14. Nema Kinz Davie, FL countries need to get together and agree on a universal
law that protects animals and their habitats in addition to
strengthening laws and implementing them from animal
abuse.
The united States is slowly adopting laws to figth cruelty,
but it varies from state to state. Teh change is happening,
but not quickly enough. Habitats are also being destroyed
at an alarming rate aong with theUS continued use of
primates, cats and dogs, rabbits in labs. Many european
nations have phased this out. the US and India need to be
leaders of just and humane laws protecting animals
the cease of animal experimentation, higher punishment for
those who harm and abuse animals.. negelect ect.

Mr. Or
Astoria, NY I am not satisfied with anything that man does, we need
people with integrity putting laws into effect with China, So.
Korea, India, let us get all these animals out of there into a
safe haven, pigs in England Heather Mills showed living in
horrific conditions, I am not satisfied with anything that
these people try to do, protect the horses, stop killing
animals, no more experimentation, this all out to be put into
implementation as well.
There are some, but not enough to protect even turtles,
frogs, and eels, every living creature.
A law to protect everything governed by God in Jesus
name, every species that he created.
By people who have the heart of Jesus, and they want to
protect animals as well.
Alot of them are not, I am trying to go to the
Assemblywoman, and man, to make laws that we cannot
eat Terrapins, and octopus, or turtles, eels, frogs, or net,
and stick an explosive device into a deer because they
annoy people, we need laws for all things that God in
Jesus name created.

We need far-reaching protection of non-Human life - today
more than ever before. In light of this I wholeheartedly
support this effort. Animals have the same rights as
Humans as regards their claim to life, freedom and
physical as well as mental inviolability. Everything else is
tyranny.
We have, what is usually hailed as one of the best animal
welfare laws, in Germany. However, it is never applied
where there is most need (industry), and personally I think
it is more of a hindrance than a boon to the development of
animal rights. The law strives to better the conditions under
which animals are kept, abused and killed. But it does not
challenge the notion that it is alright to use animals for
Human interests.
It will have to start with granting said rights to primates, the
most near relatives to man. And work itself "down" from
there. Sadly, that is the way it will have to happen ... man
will need time to accustom himself to the idea of granting
rights of life and freedom to others than Humans (and even
that has taken him a long time). There will be fierce
resistance, no doubt. Much hinges on the animal industry -
issues of money and power (as best demonstrated by the
new US ant-terror legislations AETA - aimed at the AR
movement). Some countries will be more willing to
embrace such an effort than others - religion is another
point to consider: all the big religions support the
dominance of man over nature and the animals. They will
try to defend the status qou on the basis of it being "God's
will".
I sincerely don't know. It will be slow going with many
frustrating setbacks. There must be a will in society to
embrace these values - not even politics can force
something upon people that they completely reject. And at
the moment I don't see much will in society to change.
I don't know what will have to happen to man before he's
willing to think beyond himself.
People who "love" animals these days, are not usually
willing to grant them the same rights as they have. For
many that would go too far. It is difficult.
I am not sure I understand that correctly. Animals
considered as pets in Germany are protected under certain
laws, whereas cat and dogs in Asia are not.

why the earth is almost dying.

the animals.
A complex one to insure the protection of all animals, pets,
strays, wild, from farms, used for work (as horses,
donkeys...). And to be prosecuted anyone that breaks this
law, no matter he's rich or well positioned.
Making the governments understand that we are the last
creatures that appeared on earth and we don't have any
right to bring species to extinction, to torture other
creatures for our pleasure, fashion or anything else. To
make the political force to work with the animal protection
organizations, not against them. We share the same world,
we should fight together for it.
There are some Romanian rich people that are inviting
other rich people from other countries to hunt on our
territory some species that are protected, so what else can

Mesa, AZ All living beings deserve to be treated with dignity and
respect.
There are some laws within the US to protect animals and
then just as many laws that don't.
International law should make it a felony, with severe
penalties, for taking the life of an endangered animal of
any type. Also, all other animals should have cruelty
prevention measures in place...even farm or food animals.
Governments who do not take action against perpetrators
within their countries should have sanctions placed against
them by the world community. Individuals should go before
a special court, perhaps one in each country or more as

Many.
I think there is a very small chance of something being
enacted on a global scale due to varying economical,
social and religious values from one country/people to the
next. It would make the most sense to focus on your
immediate area first - learn what laws exist, if any, that
aren't being enforced, learn whose responsible or who
would be responsible for such a law, draft an intelligent,
regular cased petition and then request signatures.
As I'm with you in theory, I'm signing in spite of your

Rock Hill, SC We are not the pinnacle of evolution. We are just another
species on this planet. As stewards, we need to protect the
other species on Earth.
Since habitat loss, waste output, and air pollution all
depend on population size, I would suggest that people all
around the should be encouraged to have less children
and more protected sex. Our population is growing
exponentially and people are living longer. Smaller families
are the only peaceful solution to stop over population.
Our species are pretty protected.

The humanocentric nature of International Law is a
scandal in this era; an era when we are scientifically aware
of the interdependence of all life on Earth.
Laws protecting individual species exist, but we need a
Law that respects all life-not just human life.
A "Law of Interdependence" looking at any given situation
from the standpoint of alll life on the planet.
By framing individual laws within a universal matrix they
will be implemented as usual; but they will gain in moral
power from their universal context.
To a limited extent, yes.

not really, we have a law that help pets, and hunting is
forbidden for all the public, you have to make examens and
learn a lot, before you get the permission to hunt, but all
the other animals, furtrade, foodchain, labs etc. are still
unprotected and it is horrible and terrible cruel what they

hunting ban to start with, animal abuse in any way and
protection of furtrade and lab testings and also to make the

us right from wrong. Animals have the same composition,
except they don't have a need for a conscience bec they
don't intentionally harm anyone...but only use their innate
instinct for survival if or when necessary. What does that
say for us human beings who intentionally kill, torture, or
abuse another living being???? Therefore, all living
creatures, animals, need laws to protect them from the
humans who don't have a conscience!
Laws, yes. Enforced, occasionally.
Simply, the strong enforcement/"allowance" of decent
humanity in a civilized(?), modern society/world! Indecency
and inhumanity have become acceptable and the norm
due to it's acceptable foundation of greed and
selfishness!!! Therefore, worldwide, humans and animals

I think animal laws should be strenghtened to its fullest,
And even right now its not even at its best potential to
protect animals.
If people in our Goverment communicated and sighned
bills on this and made it international it could work, Just like
we have contracts with many things in other countrys that
concern laws for different things. If our Goverment would
stop giving just a slap on the wrist or saying" Nect time"...
When there should be no next time it could change.Get
serious... get hard... Lets get real!
Use each case a example to the rest of the world,
warnings for the next behavior is not enough.

of the countries especially those in the Balkan region
poison their strays like pests! They are bagged, dumped
and buried, while some are still alive! In Kosovo, to
manage their stray population, they are culling dogs,
putting a bounty-- offering $10 per tail which just
encourages their poor populace to breed more dogs only
to mutilate their tails for reimbursement. These are
state-run massacre-- not only is it senseless, it is
absolutely barbaric! In Korea and China, the practice of
boiling and skinning of cats and dogs while they are still
alive; while other animals watch and wait for their turn and
know that they are to meet the same fate. Should I go on?
It's heartbreaking!! And nowhere is this humane
supposedly in what we call civilized societies.
All over the world, animals are tortured, mutilated, hanged
and burned alive just for the fun of it. No wonder crimes
are on the rise as the states condone such barbaric acts if
not run it themselves, these heinous acts are passed from
one generation to the next and the poor excuse that some
give to this type of behavior is that it's the country's
"custom and tradition." What we are doing is raising more
cruel monsters in our society. It is well documented that
animal cruelty offenders only escalate their crime and
eventually target humans terrorizing communities. First an
animal, next a child.
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be
judged by the way its animals are treated." -Mahatma
Ghandi
The United States have animal cruelty laws enacted on
each state. However, the current laws do not deter the
escalating violence toward innocent animals. We need
stiffer penalties and mandatory jail time instead of plea
agreements that get narrowed down to a slap on the wrist

No. Only recently have certain states within the USA
began to pass more rigorous laws to protect companion
animals and some wildlife. Even so, the laws often are not
enforced...and that's the problem: what little there is to
protect non-humans from humans is too often not obeyed
and/or enforced by humans.

judged by how its animals are treated.
Compassion towards animals undoubtedly overflows to
include kindness towards people as well. It's the perfect
solution for peace. BEacsue if someone can do no harm to
an animal they can do no harm to a human either. The old
saying that someone couldn't hurt a fly, meaninmg they
would harm no one
is very true.

Antibes, France It's about time to consider that the animals belong to the
planet and belong to a natural chain of living. By protecting
them, may be we'll get a chance ti save this plante allready
dead and killed by human beings.
In France, we do have law regarding all species in danger
or not. Animals are alive, they must be treated and
protected by waht they call "human".

The United States does have laws; however, for the most
part, they lack uniformity and are poorly enforced.

There must be International Laws for Animal Rights. All
over the world, animals are being abused in vast numbers.
This is WRONG, and shows the Human Race to just have
a thin veneer of civilization, while below the surface lurks
great EVIL.Animals have the right to live their lives without
having great pain or suffering inflicted on them. They
should have the right to live to the full extent of their own
longevity, not being snuffed out when humans feel like
it.WE MUST HAVE INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL RIGHTS
LAWS.....FAST !!!!!

991. Diana Nymand Bonn, Germany Humans usually measure everything by their own
standards, seeing themselves as "the crown of creation"
because some silly old fairytale book says so. In truth,
humans are the by far most ferocious predator of this
planet, having conquered even the remotest spots of earth
and thereby destroyed the habitat of countless other
creatures. It's time that we finally recognize that we have
no right to thrive at the cost of all others.
Here in Germany, there is no adequate law protecting
non-human creatures. You'll get life in jail for killing only
one single human, but to my knowledge, paying a fine is all
you possibly get for the murder of multiple non-humans. In
my opinion, this has to be adjusted in BOTH directions, to
kind of meet up in the middle. I can't see why someone
would get life in jail for killing one of a species that is BY
FAR the most destructive to earth and whose population
numbers have FAR exceeded what this planet could bear,
while killing a member of any other species that are not
harmful to their environment and sometimes even
endangered is "no big deal".
