First identity cards issued to foreign nationals in Sheffield

For the first time, foreign nationals in Sheffield can enrol for identity cards containing their facial image and fingerprints, the Home Secretary announced during a visit to the city today, Wednesday 17th December.

This has been reported on the COI website here:

This is a blatant and highly cynical attempt to sneak in identity cards by deliberately targeting marginalised, vulnerable, and for readers of The Daily Mail 'unpopular', social groups in the hope that these cards will eventually be accepted by the rest of us.

How many times must we repeat the mantra:

In Germany they first came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me —
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

\\

Speak up now because they are going to get YOU next!
