US report claims Rumsfeld guilt for torture

A report released on Thursday by the Senate Armed Services Committee in the US says Donald Rumsfeld authorized abusive interrogation methods at Guantanamo Bay on December 2nd 2002.
The report also claimed that, although Rumsfeld rescinded the authorisation after this date, the rumour of his approval for these methods spread through the US army and influenced the torture of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan.
THE REPORT ALSO STATES: 'Feb,. 7, 2002, memorandum signed by President George W. Bush stat[ed] that the Geneva Convention did not apply to the U.S. war with al Qaeda and that Taliban detainees were not entitled to prisoner of war status or legal protections' - Reuters.
