Cardiff- Police station attacked in solidarity with greek rioters.

In the early hours of this morning (12/12/08) individuals visited a police station in the Canton area of Cardiff. Slogans in support of the Greek rioters, in memory of Alexandros and anti police were painted on the front of the building. Two Police vans outside the station were also painted and covered in paint stripper.

We stand in solidarity with the rioters of Greece and with the poor oppressed of the world. For every action they take to repress us we will answer with a millitant attack.

We must fight to oppose this death machine. THE SOCIAL WAR CONTINUES.

On the December, 10 a molotov cocktail was thrown to the Greek embassy in Moscow and set it on fire.

On the December 12, anarchists hold ACAB demo in Moscow which started from the notorious police station Sokolniki (where at spring 2008 torches of anarchists took place) to the Greek embassy. About 100 people participated the demo with banners, pyrotechnics, shouting anti-cops slogans on the way attacking banks with paint bombs and making anti-cops graffiti on the walls. Nobody was arrested.

Well, if nothing else, this whole affair is at least showing us all exactly HOW MUCH we can get away with at police stations in the middle of the night.

Great. So now we can justify spending more money on increasing police budgets. Money that could have been directed towards funding social improvements instead. All you have done is justified them spending a load of money on increased security.

Perhaps it would be better putting your efforts into helping the poor by doing voluntary work and trying to making the world a better place by being constructive, not destructive. Working on social projects in poor areas would be a good start; but I suppose certain people would find that too boring since it doesn't involve wearing a balaclava at night time.

Stop lowering yourselves to their level. Assuming you have two arms, two legs and a strong back. A group of you could build something of great benefit for the poor in community if you put your minds to it.

You can do all the good deeds you want, but if there are people fucking things up at the end of it, it will all be to no avail. It's no good just creating good things (although it is admirable), it is just as important to get rid of the bad things too.

Kudos to whoever did this, cops have too much power and get away with too much shit.

Whilst there is much justifiable criticism about the attitudes and actions of some police, they are nevertheless the people you go to when your house has been burgled, or your wife raped. Perhaps you dumb, non thinking halfwit 'anarchists' (grow up children - it's never going to happen) would bear this in mind next time you hear about some crime inflicted on some innocent person. It might even be you who needs their services one day, assholes.

no one will make the connection to greece. No one in greece will even hear about it.
The only people will be readers of this article, the police at the station, the man would scrubs the walls, and the old biddies gossiping down at Mrs Miggins tea shop.

1) I think a lot of people will make the connection with Greece as its been in mainstream media such a lot

2) People in Greece will definitely hear about this action because of strong international ant-authoritarian networks and places like indymedia. Did you know that there are actually Greek people living in Cardiff who may use the telephone and tell their friends and family about such an incident. Its true!

3) There isn't a Mrs. Miggins tea shop in Canton, Cardiff. but most local people hate the police anyways.

4) It is more accurate to say that the police actually want anarchists to be brutal so it gives them an excuse to behave violently and feel more powerful. However, destroying property is not brutal as no-one gets hurt, unlike with police behaviour. the properties targetted by anarchists are quite specific, it is not random wild 'vandalism'. in the face of state murder, corporate abuse of people and planet, the most sensible and moral reaction is direct action.

point 1 & 2. Yes your right - point taken But I wonder if the rioters (majority students) reflect the mainsteam via of the Greeks. The vast number of people are doing peaceful protest and deplore the rioting (regarding this, remember we live in democracy). It may well be a phone call "... and the same crazyiness is cropping up here... i hope they don't burn don't our highstreet"

3. I think most people dislike the police (most people i know do). Until they come round and sort out a burglary / robbery and then actually find they are there for a reason. Police have other things to do than deal with politcal vandals.

4. Direct action can be as a way of impeding processes that are wrong can be commendable. But the targetting here is very suspect. A welsh police station is very offbeat from state murder, abuse of planet etc (that is more a government area). I assume that they mostly deal with friday night drunks, joyriders, theft and larceny, domestics and other day-to-day crimes. Appropriateness. It would be like jehovah witnesses attacking the local hospital because of blood banks. They think they would be right - in their own little world. But that view is somewhat of a minor fringe.
If people feel strongly about the greek police, we live in a free country - buy a plane ticket.

The police are the street level enforcers of qovernment control and repression, the world over, and as such are a target for aggression. Yes Wales is a long way from Greece and obviously the Welsh police did not have anything to do with the death of this boy but look outside the box for a second. This is about more a death, that was a catalyst, this is an organised and popular rebellion on the streets of a country not too far away. Therefore any level of solidarity that can be shown, in whatever way people see fit, is important.
These are not mad rioters eating babies along the way, these are ordinary people with a common goal and purpose and theyr fucking do it! Theyre fighting for what they believe to be a better world for them and US.
You say most people are peacfull and deplore the rioters. Been to Greece recently have you? Or just listening to mainstream media reports? because guess what? they have a reason to lie to you.
