A campaign involving a law group and several musicians has begun to stop music being used as a form of torture in Guantanamo and other US prisons

The law group Reprieve with musicians including Tom Morello and Massive Attack have begun a campaign to stop music being used as a form of torture.

The US army states that the use of particularly loud hard rock, rap and children's TV music allows them to “to create fear, disorient ... and prolong capture shock”.

According to Reprieve some of the most comonly used tracks are:

Enter Sandman – Metallica;

:: Bodies – Drowning Pool;

:: Shoot to Thrill – AC/DC;

:: Hell’s Bells – AC/DC;

:: I Love You, from the Barney And Friends children’s TV show;

:: Born In The USA – Bruce Springsteen;

:: Babylon – David Gray;

:: White America – Eminem;

:: Sesame Street – theme song from the children’s TV show.
