9/11 inquiry skipped key forensic tests

U.S. government scientists ruled out controlled demolitions in the collapses of three World Trade Center buildings but declined to test debris for traces of explosives or incendiaries, records show.
Nor did the inquiry, done by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, refer to any forensics reports by crime scene investigators, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which sent a bomb squad to the site.
