Today in Lund, the southern city that the king lived part of his life, about 50-70 nazis demonstrated and were met by resistance from about 1000 anti-fascists, some of who clashed with both nazis and police. The demonstration was organised by Skåne's Fria Nationalister (Skåne's Independent Nationalists-Skåne is a southern region of Sweden) who showed up with black shields with the word 'freedom' written in white on them. These Nazis follow the autonomous nationalist methods that are common in Germany and often wear black and mask up, making them look very much like the anti-fascists. Anti-Fascists had called for a moving blockade to disturb and stop the nazi demonstration and roamed though the streets attacking police and trying to get to the nazis. Eventually the nazis managed to carry out their demonstration and were then put on a bus and driven to the train station where they were put on a train away from the area. After the events in Lund, masses of police from the surrounding area were returning to their home precincts and decided that they wanted hot dogs after a hard days work. 20 police vans pulled up to a Statoil petrol station outside Lund and hundreds of police swamped the petrol station in with a massive demand for hotdogs, a demand that appearently was met.

In Stockholm two Nazi/Nationalist demonstrations took place, first a demo of about 40 sympathisers and members of the party the National Democrats demonstrated without much resistance. However, in the evening the People's Front (a political party that has until recently gone under the name National Socialist Front) , had a demonstration which was met with bottles, flares and fireworks. Some vehicles were attacked, one was set on fire.

The 30t November demonstrations used to be the big show of force for Swedish nazis but in recent years the Salem march has become the main yearly event and has attracted up to 2000 nazis, making it one of the biggest Nazi demonstrations in Europe. The Salem march has been happening every year around the 9th of December since 2001, this year it occurs on the 6/12, and was started as a day of remembrance of the murdered skinhead and nazi sympathiser Daniel Wretström who was killed in a gang fight on the 9th of December 2000. The nazis claim that he was the victim of anti-Swedish violence and multi-cultural society. Every year their march is met by a large anti-fascist mobilisation and are always outnumbered but protected by a huge police force.
