BNP gets ready to open office

THE CuNTROVERSIAL right-wing British National Party is gearing up to open its first branch in Sevenoaks, it claims.

33 comments so far - they could do with more according to this one :

"Given that the vast majority of people do not support the BNP I think the flood of unanimously pro-BNP comments on here probably tells us that some right-wing forum has linked to this story, rather than that everyone in Kent has suddenly gone mad.

I'm hoping so anyway.

And yes, I have looked at the website. Looks very much like fear-mongering racism to me.

THE CONTROVERSIAL right-wing British National Party is gearing up to open its first branch in Sevenoaks, it claims.

The precise location of the office is being kept a closely-guarded secret, but South East regional spokesman Andy Mcbride has confirmed it will be in the town and is to be spearheaded by party activist Paul Golding.

It should be up and running by the end of January, the party said.

Sevenoaks MP Michael Fallon said the BNP had no history in the town and branded the move "pointless".

"Sevenoaks is not the sort of place for extremists of any kind, right or left," said Mr Fallon.

Sevenoaks District Council leader Cllr Peter Fleming said: "I think all the mainstream political parties would be concerned about a party whose basic message is one of intolerance and hate." He added: "I think the majority of residents would be horrified the BNP was opening an office because of the policies they pursue."

The news comes in the wake of last week's publication of the party list on the internet, which identified 14 members across the Sevenoaks area.

Mr Mcbride claimed the figure was actually three times as high and believed it was only a matter of time before the party started to win local council seats.

"We've grown so formidable it's frightening them," he said. "It's frightening the Government and the political elite.

"There's demand here, actually. We wouldn't do it if there wasn't.

"He (Mr Golding) is a very experienced member and we're positive it's going to be a success." Mr Mcbride branded the publication of the list a "Socialist conspiracy".

Among other places, it identified members in Sevenoaks town, New Ash Green, West Kingsdown and Biggin Hill.

John Dixon, of Lance Croft in New Ash Green, has been a BNP member for the past 25 years.

Before that he was a member of the National Front. "I make no secret of it whatsoever and I couldn't give a damn," said the 78-year-old.

"I'm pleased the list has leaked out, it gives the establishment something to think about. They're frightened out of their wits."

Biggin Hill resident Don MacPhee, 77, said he had been a member for the past nine years.

Mr MacPhee, who lives in The Grove, said he had joined because he was worried about uncontrolled immigration, saying: "I don't believe a multicultural society works."

The list of local members also included a school employee, who insisted he was no longer a member.

"I don't believe a multicultural society works"

Agreed

Every fash bigot I've ever argued with has always claimed that multicultural society doesn't work, when asked for proof I usually get a feeble "well's there been race riots." Pointing out that more people are involved in violence due to being pissed and that theres been bigger riots at football matches and would they ban booze and footy shuts them up, pointing out that most of the few race riots we've seen have been sparked off by wankers like them, either full blown fascist organisations or racist coppers, adds to it. I can't beleive tyhat these people are so thick as to not understand its them and their attitudes stopping community cohesion that causes the aggression and conflict, not a mulitracial society on its own.

In Paul Golding's bedroom perhaps?

What does it mean by "an office" - an official rented HQ where they have computers and merchandise and things?

Could it be like the old HQ they had in Welling that was the target of many marches in the 90s?

Maybe if we put our collective heads together we can locate it. Local planning application records or something.

Just the place

Any surprise at the BNP opening an office in a place like Sevenoaks is misplaced. The posting a bit further down "List reveals middle class base of the fascist BNP" is an admirable analysis of the leaked list and shows just what the title says. It's increasingly in the suburbs, market towns and "white flight" areas that we need to resist the growth of fascism -increasingly in crappy disguise- these days. In exposing and opposing them we maybe need to adjust our perceptions and tactics more than we have already.

As for the comment by antifash -surely you're not suggesting a respectable political party like the BNP would think of opening an office without any necessary planning consent, are you? (e.g. a change in use category.)

Oh, right, that's what you ARE suggesting. Useful thing is if that's what the BNP are up to, it arouses much more indignation in a place like Sevenoaks than it would in inner city areas where very few people give a toss about planning control -including the councils much of the time.

Multiculturalism=shit

28.11.2008 16:42

You do not need to be a BNP member or supporter to oppose that shit they call multiculturalism. Keep it for the hippies.

Multiculturism is already here

28.11.2008 23:18

I find Jims comment a bit silly really. Multiculturalism is already here and it is working. There's hardly a town in the country without its Indian, Chinese, Pizza or Kebab shop, when the lagers are all German, Belgian or further afield, when the clothes on peoples backs are made everywhere but Britain, when the toys children play with are mostly made in Thailand or China. That is leaving out all the cricket, football and other social events too...

Better to be the fucker that the fuckee; so I'll fuck you, before you fuck me.
I am a fascist coward with an IQ of three and that's why I joined the BNP.

mixed culture vs multicvultarilism

30.11.2008 12:21

you confuse the liberal left multculturalist project beloved of Labour i.e Social control and micromanagement of communities splitting them apart and allowing the state to install their community leaders and political crooks and a society made of many different cultures for many years ( not just recent immigration cliches ) . Splitting up communities made a lot of money for the NGO types and helped set up various right and left wing power bases that are almost indistinguishable ( almost as if the state and its collabarators are trying to provoke racism eh? - call for some more community support officers....

some people are fucking naive
some are just scared of the under classes and their kids ( and that goes out to a fare few 'activists' and 'Guardian reading anarchists' )
