‘Certain Days’ Prisoner Solidarity Calendar 2009
A 42-page, full colour calendar packed with writing, art and campaign/solidarity info relating to US political prisoners and related projects. The calendar is an educational & fundraising project by solidarity activists in North America, and 3 long term US political prisoners who have so far served 95 years in prison between them. All proceeds go to The New York State Task Force On Political Prisoners; Addameer; and The San Francisco 8. See for more info  http://www.certaindays.org/?q=proceeds

The Context
Today’s anti-war, anti-globalisation, and anti-colonial movements are rooted in the history of earlier struggles for justice, including the mass movements of the 60s and 70s. Many of the US Political Prisoners and Prisoners of Social War featured in this calendar were organisers during that period: members of the Black Panther Party, or the American Indian Movement; Puerto Ricans fighting for their homeland, or white anti-racist allies working in solidarity with oppressed peoples. Some of them have been in prison SINCE THAT TIME, whilst others such as the San Francisco 8 face retrials now for crimes they were cleared of over 30 years ago. These prisoners are not relics of past movements; they are still active in their political work, and despite the hardships of organising in prison, they continue to organise for justice in the present day, justice behind bars and justice on the streets. This calendar is our tribute to them.
Free all Political Prisoners!
Free all Prisoners of the Social War!
