CALL UP BMI- STOP DEPORTATIONS

Today is another Day of Action against BMI airlines and also an urgent call to help Jila Kalkhoran and her sons, Emad and Aref Pirouzeh, due to be deported by BMI tomorrow
FRIDAY 21st November on BMI Flight BD931 from London Heathrow @ 17:15 to Tehran Imam Khomeini International, Iran.

The family (Home Office Reference number: K1279501), are nationals of Iran and residents of Middlesbrough. It would be tragic and an injustice if this family were to be forcibly removed to The Islamic Republic of Iran, a country from which they fled in fear of their lives.
Her husband is in Holland and his case is currently being examined.

The Home Office have clearly stated that there is no legal obligation for airlines to carry out deportations. Deporting refugees clearly violates the European Convention on Human Rights, Article 14 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and 1951 UN Convention on Refugees.

Jila and her family became targets of violence and intimidation in Iran following her husband's involvement in political activity proscribed by the Iranian government.
Before he was forced to flee, her husband was a journalist and was critical of the regime's record on women's rights, poverty and religious rights.
The mother and sons left in 2007 and the husband hoped to be reunited with them in England but is currently in Holland, where his application for refugee status is being considered.
The mother and sons must be allowed to remain in the UK and the husband should be reunited with his family as soon as possible.

The treatment that this family has already received in England has been shameful. Earlier this year, Jila, Emad and Aref were detained for removal due to a 'mistake' in the asylum process, which was only rectified at the last moment. Luckily they have been warmly welcomed by the community in Middlesborough and have managed to live a normal life. However early yesterday they were forced to relive this stressful experience all over again, and were snatched from their home and taken to Yarl's Wood.
