Wikileaks publish BNP membership list just as blog deleted!

ConcernedActivist | 19.11.2008 01:26 | Stop the BNP's Red White and Blue festival | Anti-racism | Culture | Social Struggles

The main list which was found at  http://bnpmemberslist.blogspot.com has now been removed by the man. Needless to say heads are going to roll after the data from this list has been examined by anti fascist groups. There are police officers, social workers, current army servicemen, prison officers and politicians in this document.

All data has been ripped and posted onto the WikiLeaks website and can be viewed and downloaded here!

It wouldn't be a bad thing to see the data hosted at multiple locations if anyone can safely achieve this.

You can view the list directly here:

who did it?

Whoever stole the data from a right-wing organisation is probably the dumbest person on the planet. Perhaps they will issue a fatwa!

who would have guessed...

... how many ex-coppers were on that list? And a few 'current' (well, 1996) active coppers too. They may face a small slap on the wrist now i guess.

Shame we know nothing about the reasons for listing comments...might give an interesting insight into who joins the BNP and why.

These databases are easier to use if the address column is split into street, town, city, region.
It's also interesting to display the data as a map.

...yep it is interesting and I can make some maps available if they are wanted. I've also put the data in to an MS Access database (yeah I know shit DB prog) to facilitate the GIS mapping.

Cheers!

GIS work definitely needed

Not so much address detail as interests, role, 'activist' status, job?, ...
Let us know what is happening!
Thanks

Only...

...a relatively few of the entries have details as to occupations. Indeed as for data fields, that information is collated into one field in the list that can only be described as 'notes'. And even where this field is present for a member, only a few entries as to occupation are present.

What I've done is to parse the text file through a perl prog I wrote so that I can import it into MS Access. Essentially, each line for each member entry is a separate field in my DB (excepting a few format differences in the original text list that I've taken care of). If you let me know which occupations you want to know about I can pull out the members names and details.

Oh!

19.11.2008 14:23

...it will be easy to pull of a list of activists once my comp has finished processing the file.

Cheers!

I'd put good money on..

..that most of these people read the daily mail. Look at the names and residences. You can spot the proper racist wasters, the ones who likely do nothing but cause trouble. I'm guessing "activist" status is a high risk category, and quite possibly a matter of convictions incurred. Makes sense like. You'd think they'd mark the ones they've got to put up for bail every so often like.
