Support possible airport ID strikes

The British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa) has said in the London Telegraph and The Independent that it will consider industrial action over the proposed introduction of ID cards for all UK airport workers in Autumn 2009.
The members of the association resent their treatment 'as guinea pigs' for this scheme and are also under no illusions about the apparent 'voluntary' nature of the ID card plan.
General Secretary of the association, Jim McAuslan, said, “The Government has said previously that ID cards will be voluntary, but the indications are that if you choose not to have a card, you will not get an airside pass.”
Please come out in support of the airport workers effectively being coerced into taking the cards (through effective threats against their jobs) should they choose to take action next year.
