Demonstrate: No Deportations to DR Congo

noborders repost | 18.11.2008 10:14 | Anti-racism | Migration

19th to 20th November 2008 there will be a Country Guidance case aiming to show that 'failed' asylum seekers who are returned to the DRC are at serious risk of ill-treatment, imprisonment, torture and forced disappearance. Strong evidence of this is already lodged with the Home Office. We therefore urge the Home Office to HALT all deportations of failed asylum seekers to a deadly regime of the DR Congo.

No Deportations to DR Congo / BK Country Guidance case resumes

Come & Demonstrate with us this Wednesday 19 and 20 November 2008-

Time: From 10:00 am to 17:00 pm both days
High Court of Justice
Strand
London
WC2 2LL
Nearest tube station Chancery lane, and Temple

As we are aware the Home Office have completely failed to adequately address the current country situation in DR Congo and continue to breach our rights as refugee in United Kingdom

We are also invited to protest as strongly as possible about:

* The continuing delay in delivering justice to Congolese asylum seekers.
* The continuing attempts to remove and deport asylum seekers.
* Even in the light of the current country climate.

For anybody that is interested one of No Borders who has links to the DRC will be going out there later this week to help those who could be benefited from seeking asylum in the UK. He wants to distribute leaflets etc to assist claimants when they enter the UK and to suggest the best ways to travel to Britain.

Anybody who wants to contribute to his expenses can do so here

Be careful with money requests

Has any one heard about this because I haven't, yet I have been involved with No Borders and the campaign to stop deportations to DR Congo quite a lot...Besides, we don't usually ask for money this way...I suppose everybody could call him/herself 'one of noborders' and stick his/her bank details on indymedia.
