Israeli President coming to the UK

Shimon Peres, the President of Israel, is due to come to Oxford on Tuesday 18th November...


Balliol College of Oxford uni have invited Peres to speak at the Sheldonian Theatre, and are reportedly intending to honour him by naming a series of lectures after him.

People are planning on being there from 6.30pm onwards, though the talk starts at 7.45pm.

yes, and Peres will be received at the House of Lords and be granted knighthood! it is not a joke. there have been articles in the press saying that his candidacy was compromised by his leaking the event to the press in an attempt to gather support, breaking the rules for the award. nonetheless, inside sources and an article from loyd's list last thursday have confirmed that the president of israel and child murderer in the first qana massacre in lebanon will be knighted. also, look at the fate of those who protest against him in inside israel (where international solidarity has fortunately intervened)  http://freespeech2008.wordpress.com/
