Yet another Animal Rights Case dropped.

Wickham Labs | 12.11.2008 22:57

It's not looking good for the animal rights cops. The one arrested at the Wickham Labs National has been released before even attending bail.

Hampshire police took another blow this week when they realised they had no evidence in which to convict the one male arrested at the Wickham National back in September.
So finally this week he was told that no furthur charges were being taken against him.
That makes him the third arrestee this year at Wickham alone to be released with no charges.

Poor old Sgt Tester.. Maybe Martin Foster will rub it better where it hurts for you?

Does it look bad for the cops?

The police have still managed to harass somebody and falsely imprison them and send a message to the faint-hearted that they could receive similar treatment if they too try to protect animals or dissent in any way. Even when the police have to pay compensation for wrongful arrest etc., it is not their money but the taxpayers they are spending.

The cops don't look bad to the government and corporations they serve as long as they can continue to suppress freedom of assembly and expression with anti-terrorist legislation and SOCPA. Loads of people are made to spend many hours in cells without even being charged with anything, let alone be tried and found innocent. It is just everyday routine so why should the cops care?

Nicked by incompetent cops with no evidence against you? Sue them! See  http://www.freebeagles.org/articles/suing_pca.html#suing

When the bill gets big enough, questions start being asked and cops are eventually reined in.

Don't worry about it being taxpayers' money. Use it responsibly to fund worthwhile projects. Look at it as money liberated to do summat good with, rather than being spent on more jails and armaments.

Suing the cops does take time, though. Stay around, stay in touch with lawyers handling the claim. Expect the cops to play silly buggers -just have patience and help the lawyers to extract the dosh.
