This is the tale of an emerging conflict between to totally different vision about agriculture. Filmed in paraguay, end of october 2008. It is a very very hot political issue in paraguay, but apparently doesn`t reach the international eye and ear. Yet.

It is the story of a struggle against the agro industry, with her transgenetic crops, her expensive mechanisation, her pesticides, heavy fertilisers and her strangling of local peasant communities. In the case of paraguay, the investments are being made by brasilian soy farmers that obtain a lot of lands illegally. This model is being promoted by firms like monsanto, cargill and bunge,as well as our supermarkets, meat suppliers, world bank and...even WWF, that fully accepts the use of transgenic soy and its pressure against farmers (as long as it doesn`t promote deforestation in a very direct way), as part of her involvement in the Round Table on Responsible Soy, that is nothing more than a way of greenwashing the totally unethical import of transgenic soy for our animal fodder.
