Goma, Republic of Congo.Another civil war.Too much wealth: gold, diamonds, oil, coltan.Too much bad distributed; poverty. In few hands; western.Battle between rich and tribes and nations, perhaps the Rwanda. UN ,firm.Milions of children, women and elderly at risk of life. When will these wars caused by evil money? Why the richest countries do not help the poor to manage their wealth justice?

Anyway, this "we" largely decided the boundaries of these states in their own interests, shoving peoples and tribes into states where they didn't want to be here, and splitting others in two there.
Your post is like advising burglars who've stolen the valuables from a house, smashed it up, and beaten and killed the occupants "not to get involved". Sorry, they ARE involved!
That doesn't mean your "we" necessarily has anything to contribute to solving the mess they've caused, except giving back as much of the loot as possible.

The point is EVERYONE who benefits from the wealth extracted from this area, and especially everyone who uses a mobile phone with its tiny, but crucial, bit of coltan, is already IN this morass of blood, whether we like it or not. We can whistle and pretend to look the other way, but saying "don't get involved" is a futile attempt to deny the undeniable.
Splitting up the "wes" by saying "not us, it's the Belgians" is just silly.
I don't have a mobile phone partly because of the bloody coltan wars, of which this is a continuation, but I'm not holier than thou, honest.
