New E-Borders controls came into effect recently.
Under new controls, Everybody (regardless of Citizenship) are being logged and filed.
Travel agents, Airline, ships, bus companys have to submit a manifest of everybody that has bought a ticket, the Destination, the Return Date, How the ticket was paid (cash or card). Even if someone buys a ticket but does not depart, this will also be logged and filed.

When one goes on subsequent trips..this will then be added to your File.

This may cause problems for those wishing to do a bit of Sun Worhiping in Goa this winter.

From next year Ireland will be included and one will need a passport or ID card to travel there.
