On Saturday November 1st, Riseup! Radio are hosting a skillshare for making and sharing audio recordings. Here’s an outline of what the day will look –and sound like.
Start: 11:00
(i) Introduction
What is independent radio? Why are we doing this? What are some of the potentials?
(ii) We demonstrate
• Recording with a device
• Recording with a laptop
• Phone interviews
• Editing and exporting audio
• Intro to uploading and publishing online
..and discuss promoting our radio project.
12:30
(iii) Quick session: Interviews
Small groups discuss and practice recording some interviews.
LUNCH BREAK
(bring a vegan snack to share!)

(iv) Group sessions:
Making a radio feature
Making a show with music and chat
Jingles & Ads
Voxpopping
From 4:00
(v)
Help with editing and exporting
Setting up for a ‘live’ show – Your Studio
Collating pre-recorded audio
Planning a show - Scheduling and Presenting

(vi) Finishing. Do we have the audio to put together a ‘Skillshare Show’?

Here are the technical things we need. We have some, but it may be more helpful if you bring your own portable equipment (if you have it):
Laptops (for editing; download Audacity.)
Portable recording devices (can include MP3 players that record)
Microphones
Headphones
