I know it is much to ask, as evicions are quite unpredictable events except for the fact they happen very early in the morning when everybody is sleeping...however it can be counter productive to cry for help when the eviciton does not happen, people may get tired of it and don't turn up when it is really needed. To have more people defending the building and expecially standing outside could be very useful, but how to achive that? Is there a definite phone number people can contact for updates? (internet scarcely useful in case of a sudden attack) and is there a phone tree or would it be useful to have one ? Thanks for reply.

Ramparts don't deserve to be criticised for crying wolf. An eviction is lined up for some time soon. A load of cops come and start breaking down the door. You can hardly blame people for assuming "this is it" and pressing all the buttons, can you?

This could be another crappy psy-ops "disruption" tactic, as seen at Climate Camp this year -as well as intelligence gathering, of course. There does seem to be a development of this sort of approach by british cops recently. Anyone know where it's coming from?

It's easy to say psy-ops don't get to us and we can see through it and stand strong. The theory is to demoralise and burn off marginal and new supporters, leaving a rump who can be demonised as "extremists" and picked off. We need to be careful that doesn't work.

On the other hand, I might be getting completely carried away. It could be nothing more than a cock-up or a "lark" emanating from the immature machismo of the police canteen. I don't want to be a prophet of goslingism.
