Friends and families of those who have died while in the care of the state march and hold a procession through London to bring attention to their plight.

They are joined by the families of Sean Rigg, a sometime service user who had mental health problems and who died while in the custody of police authorities at Brixton Police Station in August 2008 and the mother of Jean Charles de Menezes, who was brutally killed in 2005 by British police officers during the botched Operation Kratos.

Despite having proceeded through London for many years now, the British government persisit with their failures and continue to insisist that investigations into police conduct should be carried out by the police themselves, leading to accusations that the IPCC (Independent Police Complaints Commission) will, from time to time, protect rank and file officers at the expense of the wider general public they are there to serve.

The sombre remembrance procession marches from Trafalgar Square, along Whitehall to Downing Street where family members attach pictures, and death certificates to a fence before heading into Parliament Square to voice their frustration at the injustice of the British Justice system. October 25th 2008.

Correction - Sean Rigg.

The caption that appears under image number 6:

"Sean Rigg, died at Notting Hill, August 2008."

Is incorrect. Sean died at Brixton Police Station and not Notting Hill as mentioned.
