Neo-Nazi demo shut down in Leeds
Revo | 19.10.2008 12:09 | Anti-racism | Migration | Social Struggles
On Saturday 18th of October, the British People’s Party (BPP) planned a demonstration in Leeds, outside HMV. They intended to protest against “racist” black rap music, handing out leaflets demanding “rights for whites” and calling on the store to stock White Power music. Richard B from Leeds Revo reports.
This was what they planned to do at least… When anti-fascists got wind of it we spoiled the party.
Several hundred anti-fascists turned up, having been organised by Workers Power, Revolution, Unite Against Fascism, Antifa and some other left activists. There were two demonstrations, one marching from the university and the other congregating in the city centre.
The city centre demo marched up to the bottom of Land’s Lane and a few were quickly forced into a pen that the Police had arranged. Some managed to break away, including comrades from Revolution, and join the Uni march as it made its way down.
The Uni group had set off at 10.30am and were soon faced with an attempted police diversion, down a route that would have led to the pen at the bottom of Land’s lane. Had this happened, Land’s Lane would have been clear for the BPP to spread their fascist filth. But we anticipated the police’s plan and pushed through the police lines, forcing our way to the top of the lane. We then moved, together, to directly outside HMV - the exact spot where the fascists planned to leaflet.
We managed to hold this position for around an hour and, whilst a few people got picked off, the main demonstration stayed together, even in the face of the usual police brutality. One young female comrade was hit with a baton so hard in the eye, she had to be taken to hospital.
Just when things seemed to be calm down, one of the head officers in the police came to the front and announced that he would like a few minutes of our time to tell us how to join the Police force. This was, of course, just a diversionary tactic and, sure enough, the police then charged us from behind and began ripping individuals out one by one with brutal force.
Eventually, after a struggle they forced us down Land’s Lane after all. So, now, contrary to the police’s original plan, they were having to block both the top and bottom of the street - blocking any members of the public from coming through. The shops had closed their doors and we had dug in. We had been there since eleven, and it was coming up to half one.
But where were the fascists? Was this about to be a total victory? Were they not even going to dare and show their face?
We kept the chants going, as we had through the whole demo so far - “Fascist Scum, Off Our Streets!”, “Whose Streets? Our Streets!” etc, etc.
All the time we were wondering if the fascists would show.
Sure enough the BPP, at two o’clock - two hours later than advertised - came out.
They got into their tiny little, metal-fenced pen (all 15 of them) and began their demonstration - to nobody at all! There was not one member of the public on that street - just two crowds of Anti-fascist protestors at either end and hordes of police. The fascists had nobody to leaflet or shout at and no black brother and sisters to intimidate.
So there they were a handful of hardcore neo-Nazis, with the police defending their “right” to protest, and an empty shopping area with no one but 300 anti-fascists for company.
We stood strong, drowning them out with chants of “there are many, many more of us than you! There are many, many more of us than you!” and “What shall we do with the BPP, What shall we do with the BPP, What shall we do with the BPP, Early in the Morning? String them up like Mussolini, String them up like Mussolini, String them up like Mussolini, Early in the Morning!”
After an hour, they left through a police cordon with their tails between their legs!
If we had not been there and if we had not pushed through the police lines and occupied the street, the BPP would have had their leafleting and – who knows - could have gained some support, or just shouted their racist slanders at black and Asian people on the street.
As the economic crisis deepens – as mass unemployment looms large on the horizon in Britain – the capitalists are shore to look for scapegoats: Muslims, migrants and ethnic minorities will all be blamed for the failure of the system. History tells us that in times like this fascism can grow into a major threat. That’s why we have to fight to no platform the BPP – that’s why we did it yesterday.
But in some ways the BPP is not the major threat. They are a fringe neo-Nazi outfit with little chance of gaining mass support. We were 100% right to no platform them in their first attempt to crawl out of their hole into public politics. But the big threat are the “nice” Nazis: the BNP. They too will no doubt soon return to the streets as the crisis deepens and have to be treated just like the BPP: driven off the streets by force.
Yesterday’s demonstration shows the anti-fascists can win the battle. But it’s only

From what I can see you're both as bad as each other, but they do have a point on this one. Ban all inflammatory lyrics or ban none. Leaving it as it stands with a perceived anti-white bias just garners support for the BNP and other, fringe groups such as the BPP.
Please be factual in future.

The BPP are one of the "radical" front of the BNP, with BNP working closely with BPP members using them as security at their events & to run Redwatch whilst covertly funding them.
In their wolrd mixed race people are a holy abomination, despite the scientific fact that in nature, hybrids are one of the ways how nature evolves & that we are all hybrids of the human race. White, black, asain people are never going to die out because, the climatic conditions they live is the prime reason they are the one shade or another, with small eyes or noses most appropriate.
No wonder Alicia Keys called herself a anarchist recently in the Gaurdian.

As it is, to the ordinary bystanders, it looks like you are pro-"whatever the pertinent lyrics say" and that will turn ordinary people off and push them towards the people - however objectionable - who seem to be doing something about it.
I imagine you must get a fair few trolls on here - so I quite understand why you think I am one - but I am not. Your prerogative to think that though if you like - it's a free country. :)

Coincidence? I think not, especially when, as pointed out elsewhere on this thread, he makes wholly untrue and innacurate statements about the demo itself.
NO leaflets were handed out at all, we know it, he knows, the BPP know it. I was there, I know it.
And "Leeds Liberal"? Only a thick fascist could have come up with such a painfully transparent name as that!

Which "anti-white lyrics" are you referring to? You've just given the clear-cut proof as to which side of the fence you stand as none of the "no platform" lot would have dropped in the phrase without qualifying it as being the view of the BPP/BNP. Also anyone but the BPP/BNP would have said that these "anti-white lyrics" are found in "gangster rap" or "hardcore rap" as opposed to "black rap music" in general so as to distinguish themselves from these loony bigots.
A good troll does not allow his own speech patterns to interfere with those of his pseudonym.

The Brown Pants Party failed, miserably, on both counts. No-one heard them, they spoke to no-one, no-one could read there sad little banners that they spent their time hiding behind - if the rows and rows of police Kate had to arsekiss and grass her so -called comrades to for protection weren't enough!
She needed protection from what she dismissed as the agents of zog AND had to be carted away by Asian taxi drivers - could they have sold out anymore of their so-called principles? Have they any left? As I have written on another thread on the same issue, if the demo had been banned they may have walked away with some sort of moral victory, unfortunatley as they were allowed to stand around outside HMV looking stupid and not actually convincing anyone of anything, or even getting the chance to spread their bullshit, did they
a) actually demonstrate at all?
and
b) Do thewmselves more harm by being there in the first place?
So Lol, you keep trying, in vain, to try to snatch back some sort of dignity for the Brown Pants Party, while we laugh at you and celebrate OUR victory, you arse.

BPP (Brown Pants Party) - demo was a failure
21.10.2008 21:32
NONE OF THIS happened on the Brown Pants Party demo - do leaflets, no contact with the public, therefore NO PLATFORM.
Just face it LOL you wanker, We won, the Brown Pants Party lost - their "demo" was a complete freakshow and a failure.

Their winging on here is having two main effects:-
1) It shows how badly the farce has stung their pride, they whinge, moan and try to twist the facts like any 'good' politician does to portray themselves in a positive light. Problem is here is that they are clinging to the thinnest of straws to do so and making themsleves look so fucking desperate it beggars belief. Any casual observer on this forum would see the same its so blatantly obvious to anyone except the fash.
2) the sad as fuck trolling they do on here only results in us repeating the facts that the Brown Pants Party were laughed off the streets by a multiracial ant-fascist counter demo that occupied their space, put back their demo by 2 hours or more, cut their demo down to a pathetic 45 minutes and spent that 45 minutes laughing at them, supported by the public, the same public that the fash were trying to win over, and failed until they slunk away under heavy police protection, bought by McDimwit's arse licking and grassing of Tony White, leading ot a split with the BFF and RVF who won't touch them with a cattle prod and had to be driven away by Asian taxi drivers.
Where's the victory there then?
Fucking nowhere, that's where.

From one who was there I can safely say there were many black and asian people involved in the demo, many black and asian people from Leeds supporting us and in the Anti-Fascist movement altogether. Just check the Redwatch pages (if you're not the arse creating them) and you will see man, many black and asian, working class etc. people all sticking the V's up to Fascism. So that's that lie debunked straight away, hanging you with your own website.
As to the demo, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou once again for giving me the opportunity to repeat (cos I do enjoy it, seriously) how utterly shit your demo was. To be fair I do think that some of the credit for that should go to Kevin Spazmough and Kate McDimwit for being so utterly shit, but on the whole most praise should go to the anti-fascists, joined by the people of Leeds the very people the Brown Pants Party sort to recruit to their pathetic little cause who succesfully No Platformed your shabby little demo. A demo is not a demo unless you get the opportunity to get your message across to others, you my sad little Nazi failed miserably, not one leaflet given out, not one member of the public read your banners, not one member of the public heard Spazmough or any of his rejects-from-Deliverance drone into their megaphone. All that happened was that the very few remaining members of the Brown Pants Party who haven't been sacrificed ot the police or locked up for noncing kids, mugging homosexuals after engaging in sex acts with them or any of the other despicable lowlife crimes they like to commit when no-one's looking were drowned out and laughed at by the people of Leeds and our good selves. This must really have stung your Aryan Mastewrace pride musn't it, to see a group of working class radicals, students, and ordianry people of all ages and races laughing directly at you.
And don't give me this bullshit about not being part of or supporting the Brown Pants Party. If you have no link to then why are you so deperatly trolling Indymedia in support of them, making yourself look so sad and deluded as you do so? I think you are connected o them but you are just to ashamed to admit it. And hell who wouldn't be after that farce on Saturday?
Please pop by again and give me another chance to laugh at you, how sad and wrong you are, how deluded and desperate, and give me another chance to repat how utterly shoit and a failure your demo was because I really am enjoying it. I get to releive the victory we scored on you every time you put your piggy little webbed fingers to your special rubber computer.
Yours, in mocking laughter,
