Another reason to hate Starbucks

An investigation by the Sun revealed that over 23.4m litres of water are poured down the drains of 10,000 outlets worldwide due to a policy of keeping a tap running non-stop.

Environmental campaigners have attacked Starbucks after the discovery that millions of litres of water are wasted in its coffee shops every day, contradicting its much-boasted green credentials.

Water has to be pumped and cleaned. That all takes energy, Starbucks, what a sham. All aboard the green bandwagon.

Solution, go for a coffee elsewhere and tell Starbucks. .

In March 2007, the Starbucks Foundation donated $1m each to a WaterAid project in Madhya Pradesh, India and an International Medical Corps project water and sanitation project in Kenya. $0.05 was raised for this from each bottle of Ethos(TM) spring water purchased in Starbucks US company operated stores (since April 2005). The more you consume, the more you sustain @ Starbucks.

"The more you consume the more you conserve, at Starbucks!"

Sounds like a proper coporate advertyising slogan that, when repeating it are we meant to leave a small pause between the "conserve" and the "at" before completing the sentence with emphasis and giving a big cheesy grin to camera.

And it still doesn't excuse therm for ripping off coffee growers or forbidding unionisation does it?

crap coffee, carry on exploiting despite the pr, smells like a mcdonald, probably mostly genetically modified products as they do not say GM free so it is only worth going in to starbucks or fucks if you want to use it as the public toilets they were meant to be.
