Liverpool's social centre has been open for a year, and its members celebrated last Saturday by partying into the night.
The centre is becoming known locally as having the only vegan-only cafe in town, and as part of the celebrations, there was a vegan cake baking competition. The past year has seen building improvements make slow but steady progress, and the centre has hosted all the following groups: the Solidarity Federation, School Students Against the War, No 2ID, Keep Our NHS Public campaign, feminist educationals, the Claimants Action Group, Asylum Voice, and Merseyside Animal Rights. It also hosted a May Day exhibition, a theatre group, a few art exhibitions, and the odd gig. Here's to another successful year to follow!
