After all the assurances of last week’s romance in Paris.

Merkel ran home and started work immediately on an Irish type guarantee for the German banks.

As did everyone else at the meeting.

Brown must do the same now.

The Irish banks cannot hold all the money that is flooding them.

And, incidentally, there goes the Lisbon treaty.

Dead as a dodo…never to be mentioned again.
