Past Labour Party Conference Anti-Terror Propaganda

Video of anti-terror propaganda provided to Brighton residents at the 2005 Labour Party conference

So as we reach the end of a Labour party conference let us cast our eyes back to DVD that was produced and distributed by Sussex police to Brighton residents living in the locality of the 2005 Labour Party Conference.

The Video uses alarmist imagery to scare the public into complying with requests to spy on fellow citizens taken ‘unusual’ photographs and to be ready to provide ID in the form of a passport to officers knocking on the front door of your own home.

Of course throughout the video we are reminded that Business won’t suffer, so at least we know they have the interests of capitalism at heart.

Thanks to Geeklawyer for ripping the vid.

Yes, how unnecessary.

I mean, it's not as if terrorists have ever succeded in blowing up a hotel in Brighton during a party conference when they thought the Prime Minister might be there. Oh... wait a minute.

So 11 years later they release some propaganda

Yes and 11 years after the Grand bombing in fast reaction to the threat the police release a video asking citizens to 'lookout' for people taking odd tourist videos and abuse civil liberties by asking people to provide ID when in their own homes.

Have a look at the white car at the red light almost in the centre of the video. Next in the video is a bad office style presentation to tell everyone the "all" criminal acts will be dealt with. From other snippets these include interviewing non-caucasians, blocking cycle lanes so cars are free to use the roads, curtailing individuals freedom to movement in public areas, etc

Has anyone reported that people in blue overalls have been filming/videoing non-tourist sites? That the same individuals have been making notes? or that these, same individuals, are also taking images/notes at EDO? Did the people in the video consent to be in the video and have Sussex police identified them?
