Rossport Camp | 19.09.2008 09:32 | Social Struggles

Callout for the Solitare to be welcomed in Glasgow.

From the link below you can see that the Solitare is due to arrive in Clyde Port at 13:00 hours today!

Maura Harringtons hunger strike continues until she receives final confirmation. Can we please get a set of eyes in Glasgow to confirm the Solitare landing?

Thank you all for your solidarity with Co. Mayo Ireland.

2pm Soltaire on Clyde shipping map

19.09.2008 13:16

The on line map which shows where ships are on the Clyde shows the Soltaire just passing Arran on the Firth of Clyde. I'll post here when it docks and then lets see if anyone can go and look at it.

You can see it moving on  http://aisliverpool.co.uk/showship.php?mmsi=351597000

Is anyone directly in touch with Rossport???

Solitaire

19.09.2008 14:02

It looks like the Solitaire is going to the west of Little Cumbrae (near Millport), which would make it less likely to be going to Hunterston, unless it is going to turn. The QE2 is docking at Greenock next month, so it would be big enough for the Solitaire. Is there still a dockyard at Port Glasgow and Yoker as well as Govan? Is the Solitaire in need of repair? The Clydeport George V dock is on the south side of the Clyde, several hundred yards past the Southern General Hospital traveling west and is part of an industrial site. It can also be seen from the Braehead Shopping Centre, but it's small and semi-derelict.
