Action Alert -- Nepal Fair London 2008

Gateway To Hell | 17.09.2008 17:28 | Animal Liberation | Bio-technology | Ecology | World

Nepal may have banned the export of monkeys for vivisection, but the monkeys are still in the monkey farms and are still being used in research by American vivisectors based in Nepal.

This weekend they will be staging Nepal 2008 in London, please politely contact the organisers to express your concern about Nepal's continued exploitation of their monkeys and to ask them to use their influence to ensure the monkeys are saved from vivisection.

OPERATION KNOCK OUT ROUND 2 - NEPAL FAIR, LONDON

On the 21st and 22nd of September Nepal are hosting a festival in London,
Nepal 2008, to celebrate all that is great about Nepal. We are sure that
the majority of the participants will know nothing about the barbaric
monkey farming going on in Nepal and that is why Gateway to Hell activists
will be protesting there. For all of the G2H activists who won't be able
to attend the demos in person we are asking you to contact the organisers
to ensure the reasons why we are protesting are clear.

Please send a copy of the Sample Letter below, (feel free to edit it
first), to the block of emails provided. Remember these people probably
don't know about the monkey farms in Nepal and like most Nepali people
they will most likely be horrified by the shameful exploitation of their
country's sacred wildlife, so please keep all communications with them
polite and informative at all times.

SAMPLE LETTER:--

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to express my concern about Nepalese monkey farming
for vivisection. I am not sure if you are aware but under the rule of King
Gyandendra, the Working Policy on Wildlife Farming, Breeding and Research,
(2003), was introduced. This law allows for the farming of wild animals,
(such as monkeys), to be farmed and used for animal experimentation.

A monkey farming operation has been setup, meaning monkeys from the wild
have been unjustly caged and a whole generation have spent their entire
lives in confinement awaiting a fate worse than death in a vivisection
laboratory!

You can see video evidence of the breeding farm here:
 http://www.gatewaytohell.net

Whilst the Nepalese government has since declared a ban on the export of
monkeys for vivisection, I am still concerned for the well being of the
animals in the breeding farm and those being used in the American funded
research centres in Nepal. The information I have received suggests that
the majority of Nepalis share my view that monkeys are sentient creatures
deserving of protection from exploitation.

Regardless of your own religious persuasion, I urge you in the strongest
possible terms to use your influence in Nepal to ensure that no Nepalese
monkeys are subjected to vivisection either in Nepal or elsewhere.

Yours faithfully,
(YOUR NAME HERE)
