Rallies in Support of Al Qaeda in New York Deplored

Ahmar Mustikhan | 14.09.2008 16:37 | Analysis | Social Struggles | Terror War | World

Pakistanis in New York have been staging rallies in support of Aafia Siddiqi, an alleged member of the Al Qaeda. On Saturday, they staged a demonstration against U.S. raids on the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

Dr. Shazia Khalid, who was raped by Pakistan army Captain Mohammad Hammad.

A Baluch group has voiced concern over Pakistani rallies in New York which indirectly supports the Al Qaeda's war on the U.S. and the Free World.

In a letter sent to New York Senators Hillary R. Clinton and Charles E. Schumer, and Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, American Friends of Baluchistan founder Ahmar Mustikhan cautioned them where were these protesters when Pakistan conducted its deadly nuclear tests in occupied Baluchistan.

Baluchistan is a Texas-sized region without statehood.

Mustikhan is concerned at Pakistan's nuclear weapons as he believes Pakistani army generals are basically jihadists and will not desist from using the Islamic Bomb on Tel Aviv, New Delhi or New York.

In fact, the money for the 911 was bankrolled by Pakistan's spy service named Inter Services Intelligence.

He urged the New York leaders to focus their attention on balkanization of Pakistan as a surefire way of peace in the world. Following is the full text of his letter to the three New York officials:

I am deeply concerned over a protest in support of Al Qaeda staged at the Times Square in New York on Saturday afternoon by a group called Pak nationalists.

These Pakistanis are opposing the U.S. action against terrorist sanctuaries in Pakistan, where at least 10,000 Arab and international jihadists and tens of thousands of Pakistan's warrior sans frontier are based, conduct training and receive arms with the full blessings of Islamabad.

As a renegade Baluch, I must condemn the activities of these Pakistanis in New York who had earlier staged demonstrations in favor of alleged female member of Al Qaeda, Aafia Siddiqi.

Where are these Pakistanis when the Al Qaeda and Taliban attack people from 41 nations in Afghanistan? Why don't these Pakistanis protest against their country harboring Osama bin Laden, Ayman Zwahiri and when Islamabad refuses to hand over nuclear terrorist A.Q. Khan for international interrogation?

Where are these Pakistanis when their army burns alive Baluch people in Baluchistan, the area-wise largest state? Where were these Pakistanis when Pakistan army extra judicially killed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, former governor and chief minister of Baluchistan? Even the last remains of Bugti, who was the chief of the Bugti tribe and president of the Jamhoori Watan Party, were not returned to his family. Where were these Pakistanis when their army conducted nuclear tests in Baluchistan against the wishes of Baluch people? Those tests in May 1998 left a significant portion of Baluch land and water destroyed.

Where were these Pakistanis when Dr. Shazia Khalid was raped on the wintry night of January 2, 2005 by army Captain Hammad, who was never brought to justice? Where are these Pakistanis when the shrieks and cries of Baluch women and children echo in the mountains and valleys of Baluchistan? Pakistan's jihadist army uses U.S. weaponry, including F-16 jets and Cobra gunship helicopters, against the secular Baluch people.

I am all the more concerned that the entire Pakistani state machinery spurred into action in defence of Aafia Siddiqi, who press reports said had maps of key installations of New York at the time of her arrest. This clearly shows Pakistan is a state sponsor of terrorism.

There has been a huge cover up about Pakistan Army's role in 911.

The then chief of the dreaded Inter Services Intelligence, General Mehmud Ahmed, had to quit his post within a month of the 911 attacks after proof of his role in bankrolling the money to the 911 hijackers was exposed in the media.

General Ahmed was in Washington D.C. on the day of the attack seven years ago

The person who wire transferred the money to the lead hijacker Mohammad Atta on General Ahmed's instruction was Omar Sheikh, a Briton of Pakistani origin. He was later sentenced to death for the killing of Daniel Pearl.

I take this opportunity to draw your attention to certain facts of history concerning Baluchistan.

My ancestral Baluchistan never wanted to become a part of Pakistan and was granted independence separately from India and Pakistan. It was an independent nation until March 1948 when it was annexed at gun point.

The De Jure Ruler of Baluchistan, the Khan of Kalat [Beglar Begi] Suleman Daud Ahmedzai, who is now in exile in the U.K., is leading the charge to get international justice for Baluchistan at the International Court of Justice at the Hague.

Ahmedzai's grand uncle Prince Agha Abdul Karim Khan led the firt Baluch uprising against the Pakistani occupation of Baluchistan in 1948. He was arrested and jailed for 16 years.

I urge you to please initiate direct talks with Ahmedzai to find out the best way to balkanize Pakistan in the interests of world peace. Unless this is done, neither the U.S. nor the rest of the world will ever be safe.

Unlike the Pakistanis, as much as 93 percent of the Baluch want the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan to replace the Pakistan army in Baluchistan, a recent poll showed.

I urge you to have the ISI role in the 911 attacks and killing of Daniel Pearl reinvestigated. I also urge you to please work towards forming a Congressional Fact Finding mission to visit Baluchistan, where at least 1100 people are still missing, presumed to be either dead or still languishing in Gestapo-style torture cells of Pakistan's Military Inteliigence.

Last but not the least, I urge you to have the background of these Pakistanis demonstrators in New York thoroughly checked. The decision of these Pakistanis to openly side with Al Qaeda against the U.S. at a time when America was remembering the victims of 911 should be a wake-up call for all Americans.

Ahmar Mustikhan

Baluchi Background

1st April 2008 marked the 60th anniversary of the invasion and annexation of Baluchistan by Pakistan, a year after it declared independence. The Baluch tragedy remains to this day a well kept and increasingly dirty international secret. Shamefully, the annexation event, which took place against not only the wishes of its own people, but also of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan and the following sixty years of persecution have gone practically unreported in the western press.

However, you can find an excellent, brief summary of the history, and sensitive nature of the Baluchi cause, and its links to US geopolitical strategy and the war on terror, here:

The Terror Swap Controversy

A Mr Rashid Rauf was up til recently being held as a terror suspect by the Pakistani security force, but has recently escaped. He is wanted by the British state for his alleged part in the transatlantic airline bomb plot of 2006. There is the suspicion that he was allowed to escape..

>
> The other side of the story is that prominent Baluchi nationalists Mr Hyrbyair Marri and Mr Faiz Baluch, now living in the UK, are wanted by Pakistan as part of its policy of crushing the struggle for Baluchi self-determination.
>
> According to mainstream reports, the Pakistani and British state are now involved in secret negotiations ("Britain is struggling to develop closer ties with the ISI") in which Pakistan has offered to extradite Mr Rauf but only if Britain does the same with Mr Marri, Mr Baluch and a number of other Baluchi nationalists resident in the UK.
>
> Mr Peter Tatchell recently reported to CAMPACC on the historic situation, and in particular the cases of Mr Hyrbyair Marri and Mr Faiz Baluch.
>
> BLA on Terror List
>
> Last summer, the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) became the 41st group to be proscribed as an 'international terrorist organisation' under the UK Terrorism Act 2000. The decision to place the BLA on what is now known as the 'terror list' was never debated in the British parliament. Given the timing, in conjunction with the high profile Rauf/2006 bomb plot case, the decision to place the BLA on a par with Al Qaeda et al is questionable to say the least. US weapons are almost certainly being used by the ISI in Baluchistan, while at the same time there are reports that the US is simultaneously arming Iranian Baluchistanis across the border, in an attempt to destabilise the Iranian regime.

Theis recent article on Balochistan infuriated the Pakistan government.
Through the High Commissioner in London, they demanded that The Guardian remove it
from the website or publish an apology and correction. Their pressure
on The Guardian has been very aggressive and demanding. But The
Guardian is standing firm and refusing to bow to their bullying.

The Pakistani government did not object to my report about its army
burning alive four prisoners. What it wanted censored was my
statements about Pakistan invading, annexing and occupying
Balochistan. They claim the people of Balochistan voted to be part of
Pakistan!!!! When? Where?

Please spread this story as far as you can. Exposing them will really
increase the embarrassment of the Pakistani leaders. Peter Tatchell

I asked around CAMPACC & Others about the veracity of this article:

14.09.2008 21:08

I can't vouch for everything in this article. But much of it rings true.

Re Aafia Siddiqi: she and her children have had their rights
repeatedly violated. See the Asian Human Rights Commission reports on
the abuse they have suffered at the hands of US government agents.
Campaigning for her human rights, and her childrens' rights, is much
needed.

Best wishes, Peter

On behalf of Peter Tatchell
