Pc Daniel gaffney jailed for 12 weeks for asssult of 12year old in custody. Why not write to him i'm sure hes feeling lonley! don't be too polite.

He said that the child had intimidated him, does this justify the "seven or eight out of 10" punch to the nose? The BBC seems to think so, otherwise they wouldn't of mentioned it. They bring a whole new meaning to the phrase cherry picking...

I would have thought that this would have dictated that he be banished from the police force. Does this mean anyone with a similar criminal conviction can now join the police? This will surely go to reinforce peoples perception that the police are just an orginisation of bully boys. Who are the real terrorists?

No matter which way you look at it, this was a big thug attacking a 12 year old child.

That is child abuse, plain and simple.

Bullies never pick on people there own size.

This piece of scum is now a convicted child abuser (physical) -
and the police should either 'back him or sack him'

Either way, 3 months time .........

I think he should lay very low indeed when he gets out in 3 months time.

I don't know what kind of ivory towers some of the posters here live in, personally I live on a council estate in the north of England and I am very much aware of how frightening the children who are the results of twenty-plus years of the City of London's bankers ruling the UK can be - I guess I saw this story rather differently.

This cop is too highly-strung to be working on the job, shame on him for initially lying about this too. He'll probably graduate to working as a bouncer - he's sure got the looks and temper for it.

Kudos to his colleagues (even if this IS just a PR spin by the police) for uncovering and accepting the facts that he blew it.

Many of us have met proper nasty pigs who make you say & think ACAB; in some respects however the police are the ultimate victims of Capital, working against their own class - save the vitriol for the political police and for the architects of capitalism who created a situation where a twelve year old boy can threaten to shoot everyone in his suroundings and sound plausible.

Does anyone know what Wythenshaw is like?

Sod you lot, The officer had his conviction quashed, He's a free man. Common sense prevails!!! The kid is a little S**t who deserved a good hiding.
As for a duty of care, Who was looking after him in the childrens home to allow him to be pissed on a saturday afternoon, cause damage to the care home then threaten staff???

case closed..........!
