Deportation and arrests ahead of Labour Party Conference

A Manchester-based man has been deported and three more people arrested under immigration law already as part of the police operation to protect Brown and Co during their annual party conference in Manchester later this month.

Also, the GMP's new chief constable has been sworn in today. Peter Fahy replaces Peter Todd who was found dead in Snowdonia earlier this year in the £168,000 a year job, and will oversee the policing of the Conference.
