"Reports in the media today (Tuesday 26th August) state 'traditional full English fry-ups may raise the risk of bowel cancer by 63 per cent'."
This is looking distinctly like statistics abuse. If the initial risk is 1:1,000,000 then a 63% rise gives a risk of 1.63:1,000,000. All of a sudden it's not so dramatic, is it? It might also be nice if there was a reference to these "Reports in the media...".
"Studies have shown that those who follow a meat-free diet have a lower risk of suffering from obesity, heart disease, and diabetes as well as some cancers."
They also have a higher probability of getting a reasonable amount of exercise and not sitting on their arse all day eating chips - a link to some of these studies would allow us to see if these factors have been taken into account.
