Crossrail - Bechtel makes its move for more UK taxpayers money

notocrossrail | 20.08.2008 15:29 | Analysis | Globalisation | Social Struggles

The Crossrail scheme which is already proving itself to be worst public transport fiasco presided over by Britain even in its planning stages. Following a Huttonesque Royal Assent achieved by avoiding any scrutiny of Crossrail, chief executive of Crossrail, a Douglas Oakervee a man who was said to be economical with the truth when he presided over the Hong Kong fiasco is currently negotiating contracts using taxpayers money even though the funding for Crossrail is not place. We name and shame some of the characters.

Let us start with Gordon Brown, led by Douglas Alexander (Brother of disgraced Wendy Alexander).

Gordon Brown after one short meeting with opportunist firm head Riley Bechtel managed to ensure Brown gave Crossrail the go ahead for the election that never was. US Bechtel which has a terrible record of taking the money and not doing much is set to be a primary benefiaciary of the Crossrail project. Many may wonder why European firms with good transport records are not vying for this work because there is no real competition. ,So why is the Government supporting Crossrail without evidence of legal compliance, financial viability and environmental harm and comparisons of alternatives. Courtesy of beneficiaries courting Labour. Jack Cunningham has been advising the Corporation of London, a medieval and unelected municipal Government that sits and benefits from London's assets and will be the main beneficiary of Crossrail but guess what it does not want to pay for it. Following the Alexander meeting and advice from Cunningham, PM Brown signed up the UK and London taxpayers to the Crossrail project.

The Government made sure that the hand picked Crossrail Committees were led by people who would proceed with no interest in scrutiny let alone the truth. They certainly had no interest as to why Crossrail has lied to those affected by the scheme and exactly how Crossrail as a development scheme that is benefitting companies, is in the public interest. Ordinary Londoners have discovered that lying and abuse of process is common practice in the UK Parliament and it is often assisted by lawyers and third parties who are ostensibly independent.

Two Parliamentary committees, both in the Commons and the Lords ensured that no one addressed why London had been consulted on whether they wanted Crossrail as public consultation was not deemed important only the views of the City and Canary Wharf were solicited. Alan Meale MP well known for voicing the concerns of development companies outside of his constituency and Viscount Colville Ross for the Lords showed himself to be equal to his Labour counterparts in preventing issues of importance to London residents, farepayers and UK taxpayers from being raised about Crossrail. If Viscount Colville Ross is an example of honour amongst the peers let us hope these characters return to the flea pits from which their insecure made up titles came from. No one cares about the monarchy and these idiots - it is why poor people allowed entry into this country have to sit the fabricated history test to give the Queen and her idiots the recognition they do not have and never deserved.

The company Cross London Rail Links Ltd, a private company was created following a report (ostensibly independent) by an Adrian Montague who has been knighted for his efforts to the private sector. This man has left the UK taxpayer in debt to companies with the worst records in history including nuclear decommissioning, tube companies, the break up of Crossrail and his ideas have led to the destruction of the once respected NHS. Adrian Montague is a lawyer cultivated by both the Tories and the Labour party. He is a fat man who has lots of US links and was close to Ken Livingstone.

The Committees ensure that only the rich City had been asked what they wanted and they had volunteered that UK taxpayers and farepayers wanted to pay for av £16 billion Crossrail scheme that would cause untold harm to London residents and would open up development opportunities for which little or no information was being made available. A third of companies in the UK pay no tax, pay low wages and make UK workers work harder than the rest of Europe and they are the primary beneficiaries of Crossrail.
