Hamas Blames Israeli Collaborators for Rockets

Collective Punishment is a War Crime | 15.08.2008 01:53 | Anti-racism | World

Israel has a long history of infiltrating Arab organizations, and using them to commit false flag attacks, intended to provide a convenient justification for planned Israeli aggression. This seem no different, and Israel's current government represent those who rejected "Disengagement", even though it effectively turned Gaza into the world's largest Concentration Camp.

They've planned a reoccupation for years now, but the pressure of the international community, and this cease-fire stand in their way.

Hamas blames ”Israeli collaborators” for launching rockets

Posted: 12-08-2008 , 13:56 GMT

The Hamas rulers of Gaza Strip on Tuesday lashed out at gunners who fire rockets at Israel from the Palestinian territory in violation of a seven-week-old calm, calling them Israeli collaborators. "About the rocket-firing, I think those who are responsible are those who collaborate with Israel because there is a consensus by all Palestinian groups to respect the truce," said Dr. Mahmud Zahar, a senior leader of the Hamas movement.

On Monday, a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in an empty field outside the southern Israeli city of Sderot, causing no casualty or damage.

According to AFP, Zahar told a Gaza radio station that the party which fired the rocket was "linked to Israel as they provide a pretext to exercise pressure on the Palestinian people."

After the latest incident, Israel on Tuesday closed the Nahal Oz crossing to Gaza Strip that is used to ferry in fuel and the Sufa passage for food deliveries to the impoverished and blockaded territory. On his part, MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular committee against the siege, strongly denounced Tuesday the Israeli decision to close the crossings, noting that the Gaza commercial crossings are already paralyzed despite the calm.

In a press statement received by the PIC, Khudari underlined that the Gaza crossings especially Al-Mintar (Karni) crossing must remain open around the clock for more than a year in order to end the effects of the Israeli siege imposed on the Strip two years ago. The lawmaker also pointed out that Gaza needs more than 400 trucks laden with raw materials necessary for various industrial sectors.

A small dispute about the terms (of the cease fire)

15.08.2008 11:23

And how to interpret them.

The Palestinian side is arguing that the agreement to allow in supplies FROM ISRAEL (emabrgo, not siege) was to begin within 24 hours of the time they stopped firing rockets the first time.

The Israeli side is arguing that the agreement to allow in supplies from Israel was to begin within 24 hours of the time the Palestinians stopped firing rockets --- and that each subsequent rocket restarts the clock. In other words, from the last time.

I seriously doubt that this was clearly settled by the wording as it would have been to the advantage of both sides not to do so to give them a little flexibility.

But THIS report is obscene. No friends, the Israelis are not firing rockets at themselves just to give themselves and ecxcuse not to supply the Gazans. Yes, most Palestinians probably feel that firing rockets at the israelis counterproductive but for SOME of the radical extremist groups their internal competition with other radical extremeist groups might favor the tactic. Never forget the usually valid dictum "all politics is local".
