Police Rubbish Barricade

Purple Tim | 09.08.2008 12:05 | Climate Camp 2008 | Climate Chaos | Ecology

Police have asked why we have built yet another barricade at gate 5 of the Camp near kingsnorth power station

Protesters manning gate 5 which has seen numerous attempted incursions and injuries from batons and pepper spray have built a barricade from rubbish that the police left. The police obviously decided there was no point policing the gate any longer and had pulled back leaving it unmanned. They even took their chemical toilet with them but left a pile of rubbish. The Crew on gate 5 decided to make a statement with it and built a barricade out of their own rubbish

Must have taken all of 3 minutes to clear.

Why bother? Pathetic.

Protesters have acted irresponsibly

09.08.2008 15:55

Climate protesters have acted irresponsibly by blocking all the exits from the camp and thus putting lives at risk in the event of an emergency like a fire.
