Kemi, Taiwo & Yasmin
"Pregnant mother Kemi Ayinde and family have been told this week that their application for a Judicial Review of their asylum claim has been refused. They are liable to be detained and deported at any time.
Kemi has been told that the baby is not growing normally and her pregnancy may have to be terminated. Her GP and midwife have both stated that they believe that the problems she is having with her pregnancy have been caused by the stress and shock of being detained and threatened with deportation.
Kemi's partner Taiwo has volunteered with Sue Ryder Cancer Care in Cardiff in the past and is due to begin volunteering with the Big Issue Cymru next week."
He says "Me and my family hope to be able to stay in Cardiff where we have made many friends and where we feel welcomed."

Support Amdani Juma
"Last Tuesday what was expected to be a rubber stamping exercise re the Judicial Review took some time and it was eventually adjourned for 3 weeks. The HO have employed a £8,000/day barrister to work for them, which probably shows that they don't think they are on safe ground anymore and that Amdani's case is increasingly compelling. The solicitor will see him next Friday and discuss how strong he thinks the case is with the new evidence, and he'll submit it to the court on Friday 22nd. The new evidence includes two arrest warrants which we are getting verified, Roger's country report and evidence from possibly two more experts on Burundi. After this, the HO can take as long as they like putting their response together, and after they come back to the court it takes another two weeks. So we have at least a month before the Review itself but realistically longer.
Amdani's bail hearing is on Monday 11th August in Loughborough"

Prossy Kakooza
"Prossy's court case is now on 5th September. This is to appeal against the original Home Office decision to deny her asylum. We are just getting witness statements together and the GMIAU will be instructing a barrister to argue her case.
Just wanted to keep you in the loop"

Bridget O'Koro and Osaivibie
"We held off putting out a 'bad news' message about Bridget in the hope that she somehow managed to avoid being put on the plane but no such luck - she was forcibly removed to Nigeria - we'd just run out of things to do to help her." Unity Centre
