West Midlands at Camp for Climate Action
Climate Camp - West Midlands neighbourhood | 06.08.2008 10:56 | Climate Camp 2008 | Climate Chaos | Ecology | Birmingham
Come and join the West Mids neighbourhood at the camp.
The week of actions, debate and workshops around climate change and grassroots sustainability is now up and running. The camp has been set up near Kingsnorth power station, in response to the new generation of coal fired power stations that will create further environmental chaos.

Despite the predictable police harassment, the camp has been operating effectively: so far there’s been workshops on off-grid renewable energy and Marx's views on ecology, to name a few; discussions on agrofuels, and planning for Saturday’s mass action. There is also a cinema, bakery and computer suite, as well music playing everywhere.

The West Midlands neighborhood has been fully up and running since Monday. Together with the Yorkshire neighborhood, it is the only one with disabled access. There are also plans to have a cinema screen at the neighborhood.
We’re inviting people from the West Mids to come and join us: come and learn, muck in, make friends, have fun, get empowered and take action for a sustainable democratic future. It will be an excellent opportunity to network with people from the west midlands to build positive movements in your own communities.
