Footage from dawn raid on Climate Camp

climatecampimc | 04.08.2008 06:49 | Climate Camp 2008 | Repression

Some short extracts of footage recorded this morning from police raid on the Camp for Climate Action, nr Kingsnorth, Medway.

This morning, starting around 4.30AM, police attempted an incursion on the site of the Camp for Climate Action. This occurred at both gates, with the largest body of police at the top gate to the site. This gate has had a van blocking it for several days now and police appeared to be using the excuse that it was an abandoned vehicle to force their way on to site en masse. The campers have been able to hold of the police incursion at both gates. In the process of attempting to remove the van blocking the upper the gate, the police resorted to breaking the side windows of the cab. The driver of the van was inside the cab at this point and hence was able to take the first shot. Luckily the driver was unharmed.

Realplayer or Quicktime player should play these, if that helps. VLC player could be worth a try.

Conversion needed. The files are in a mobile phone video format so you need a player which can handle it, such as VLC I guess. Would be great if somebody off site could convert and reupload as to hectic on site at present .

VLC plays these fine. My transcoded ones did not play back though! Use VLC - you should install it anyway.
