Fur Shop Nauticalia Feeling The Heat

SARC Portsmouth | 24.07.2008 22:19 | Animal Liberation | South Coast

Today another very visual protest was held outside the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard against Nauticalia's sale of toys made of real fur.

The sun shined down on us as hundreds of people learnt that fur was still being sold on their own doorsteps.

On top of this, several tourists told us that they would not visit the Dockyard during their stay in England because of the barbaric practices it so openly supports.

We collected pages of signatures for our petition against the fur trade and informed so many people that the fur comes from a country with no animal welfare standards, meaning animals are often beaten and abused and kept in tiny cages in market stalls and factories.

Even the Military Police were evidently appalled by the sick shop on their doorsteps.

The SARC Bunny bounce around handing out leaflets and collecting petition signatures and even posing for the odd photograph (nothing says tourist Portsmouth like a good demonstration against an animal abuser)

Nauticalia, your friends are few and fading. In the 21st Century there is never an excuse for fur. We will be back time and time again until you switch to synthetic alternatives.
