On Friday, July 11th, while the Longest Walk was demanding (among many other things) respect for all life and protection of Mother Earth, animal rights activists and members of Potomac Earth First showed up at Raymond James (owner or $14M in HLS stock) and Staples to demand an end to animal torture at Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). HLS kills an estimated 500 animal a day in often-falsified experiments testing products like bleach and Splenda.

At Raymond James, DC Animal Rights activists staged very loud protest under the overhang of the entrance to Raymond James. Security tried to get protesters to leave, but this only made the protest louder!

After 45 minutes of loud sustained protest at Raymond James, a cop showed up, but was unable to follow on one-way streets to Staples. He showed up soon enough, however, along with a second cop. At Staples, these cops tried to get someone to "talk" to them, then to menace the protest by standing within it, but soon backed off.
