Welcome to Hoo St Werburgh near Kingsnorth power station.

Hello Happy Campers, welcome to our village. Hoo has a very fine pub, a Co-op store and an ironmongers, plus several other useful shops.

The route shown in red on the map has a metalled surface and makes a wonderful walk or cycle ride and is part of the Saxon Shore Way. Cycles will need to be lifted over the locked gate on the left of the picture. If you feel like going to the power station you will have to lift your bike over another locked gate and from there the surface is a bit rough and stony along the river embankment but gives a fine view over the estuary.

Enjoy your stay!

Ironmongery...

Without wanting to be excessively paranoid, I dunno how wise it'd be to rely on the nearest ironmonger - I've heard that the ironmonger nearest the Faslane nuclear base/camp informs the coppers whenever non-locals wander in and buy certain items such as bike locks, and it's by no means impossible that they could have a similar arrangement with this place...
or maybe I'm just being paranoid and he/she could be a lovely person who'd never dream of squealing on customers. Who knows?
