highway code (means nothing)

all cycle riders should have insurance ???
all road users should be tested???
road tax was 4 road repairs ???
bike riders abuse basic law ???
is it enforced by law ????
those whom break laws ????
a bycicle made 4 2 ?????
motorist always pay ????
why do we have white lines ?????
As a car drive for the last 40 yrs,the worste thing u can come is a bike rider,crossing from one side to the other,no sign to show their stopping,jumping traffic light.scratching yr car as they pass ipod in ear,taking yr wing mirrors off/smashing mirror glass.
The fact that david camerone was caught abusing the highway code as far as cyclist are concerned,proves the point that one law for him,or,hell have it changed;
david how much would that have cost me in court as a car driver.????
As a young man their was a scheme called cycling proficantsy test;
i spent the first 3 yrs of my working carrer riding a trade bike with a big basket
in front deliver meat to homes;any damage caused by me to a vehicle was taken from my pay;£5.10 shilling a weak.( ONLY ONCE I HAD TO PAY DAMAGES):
All motorist have to pay road taxes,originally for the repair of the roads;with so many vehicles on the road paying various fix amounts;how many pot holes do u drive over each day,how many in the street u live;
whilst i agree that this is a rather large taske,so are the funds through road tax.
the street around where i live seem to be repaired poorly yearly;(better than most);
mind you i do a have a conservative MP living in my street:(GREG HANDS/WE LOOK AFTER ARE OWN)more money for polish comunity in hammersmith.
the greatest gift for a couple is a child,so why do some many people put their child life in danger every day,a bycicle made for 2 is called a tandem,by law thats the only time there should be more than 1 rider,dayly i see mothers;fathers;others with 1 or more on a bike, some in the trailer behind.
just last week whilst traveling past west ken station heading fulham broadway,traffic heading to olympia was solid,yet this pratt on scooter is driving over white line directly at meon my side of the road,i stopped vehicle,ask him wot do u think u are doing apart from looking for place to dye,responce was :
IM ALOUD TO DUCK AND DIVE THROUGH TRAFFIC ? i asked rider wot does the white line in middle of road mean whether a solid line or broken,responce ???
IT MEENS NOTHING
Any offence committed by any 2 wheeled vehicle on a british road should face same penaltys as a car drive/van/lorry on the spot cash fines based the same a for car drive. the law might empose a fine of say £30 for jumping traffic lights,as a bike rider you come under road traffic act,bike riders use the road that motorist pay tax for their up keep,most accidents it seem always that fault lies with car drivers.
all bike riders shoulds / must have insurance.
david camerone will changed law/rule ? to protect him self from prosicution under the law,david so you believe in the old class structure; a law for you,punishment for others.????????

Equality for road users

Sure two-wheeled vehicles might duck in and out of places where you think there is to little room, but that might be to do with the tiny amount of space that four-wheeled vehicles generally allow for them on the road.

As for your ranting that cyclists should pay the same fines as car drivers I quite agree, the catch is we already do plus we have a fixed penalty on the spot fine for cycling on pavements. A recent conversation with a police officer brought the information that cars parked on the pavement can not be prosecuted for driving on the pavement as the police have no proof,(? - work that one out, answers on a postcard) so why all the CCTV? It is also not the responsibility of the police to prosecute for parking on pavements I was informed, of course not there are all those lethal cyclists.
And then insurance: there is the possibility of two million car drivers with no insurance in the UK (
I've added some piccies of just why cyclists should refrain from cycling on the pavement, the infernally combusted require parking facilities.

Taxing cycling?

So, good reason for governments not to tax cycling so as to encourage more people to do it.

road tax
20.07.2008 23:49
i pay council tax, which goes to upkeep of roads, although by the time all the heavy vehicles have finished with london roads i end up having to cycle through pot-holes, so i pay disproportionately for a very poor service
i use my sense on the road and am always courteous to pedestrians - i virtually never ride on pavements, and on the very odd occasion i do, i go slow and give priority always to pedestrians.
i'm a member of the london cycling campaign so i DO have insurance
where it is safe to do so i sometimes go through red lights. it gives me a head start when there's a lot of traffic, is perfectly safe, and is sometimes necessary to even up the law when cars and vans sit in the advance cycle boxes at traffic lights.
any other myths need shattering for this illiterate poster?

The cry goes up: "Something must be done"
21.07.2008 12:28
But I'm not sure I agree with the "something must be done" cry - this is the language of the tabloids - and it's a knee-jerk response. It encourages governments to write more laws - we need less laws, not more of them (that's not to say for the time being we should stop writing laws completely - but we do need to write less of them, and repeal some old ones). We shouldn't encourage the writing of so many laws that we are unable to breathe in the future for falling foul of something trivial.
On a related note, don't forget that progressive movements in the UK have found laws intended to stop one thing (e.g. stalking/harassment) have found the laws being misused against them. Meanwhile the situation with cycling on British roads at the moment is great - it provides an easy route to environmentally-friendly transport, and offers no red-tape to entangle Critical Mass riders.
Meanwhile, let's not give more power to the car user -- we need to find new ways of encouraging people *out* of their cars, not ways of allowing them more control over the road. And I say all this as a reluctant car user.
P.S.: several people here have mentioned your spelling, grammar, punctuation etc. They're not trying to be rude to you, and I think they're right: there is no reason why independent media - in the age of the spell-checker - needs to be so difficult to read.

sensible comments,would have been welcomed,,,,but why did so many white feather waving pratts reply;(that is 2 tts)fcuk off
it seem we all should interpret the law to suit our selves,but should we let a man run our country whom cant even look after his own bike.
