a free party is the best method of communication | 04.07.2008 09:34 | Climate Camp 2008

Following on from posts yesterday that confirmed the Headhunters and Dogs of Peace I can now say that Ultimatum (hard core punk), Jizzy K (urban rap) and rock performance poet Hanging Harry will also be playing the climate camp free festival.

Further details here of when and where

To the Indy admins who keep hiding this we ask you not to, I know one climate camp organiser is the friend of an Indy admin and has asked for the free festival to get no publicity because the climate camp organising group want to concentrate on politics and yet another dreary workshop but the free festival will strongly increase the number of people attending the camp and that has got be a good thing init ?

More band confirmations as I get them

Not A Festival... Really!!!

04.07.2008 10:12

I like the idea of getting more folk interested in the issues and involved, but climate camp is NOT A FESTIVAL!!!!!!

It's an educational , networking and direct action planning camp!
NOT a free party.

If you wish to revive the free festival scene please go ahead, but climate camp is not the time or place.

Find a site, find interested folk to help you, and do it!
Some of the folk involved in climate camp may even be interested in helping you once the camp is done...

Please have some respect for what we are trying to do and the amount of work it takes, get involved, come to the camp , learn something, help us save the planet.

I certainly am gonna need all the sleep possible to be able to focus on the task at hand.

I do not want people there partying all night!

2 seperate events

04.07.2008 10:20

If you want to organise the first big free festival in years, then great go ahead. I`m sure there`ll be many 1,000`s wanting to attend a well organised event. But many of these people won`t want to attend an event that is billed as an activist camp. Can`t you see that by trying to stage the 2 events together, you`re not only f***ing up the climate camp, you`re also going to destroy what could be a great free festival(for people that like that sort of thing!).

What is your motivation for this? Are you a cop or what?
