Cooperatives UK community fund has supported the Sumac centre, is interesting & worth getting involved with. International Cooperatives alliance are not perfect like any organisation though they have & do support transition town initiatives since their starting in Yorkshire & they readily supported the fight against fascism starting with the Spanish civil war. Sumac & other small cooperatives are affiliated to ICA & financially together we are big enough be allowed into the G8 to help make a cooperative world really happen

No G8!
The G8 Gathering is taking place from July 7th to 9th in Hokkaido Japan. Speakers from the anti-globalisation movement in Japan, visiting Nottingham's Sumac Centre in February, pointed out that Japan is the only Asian participant in the G8 and is pushing corporate interests throughout the region, whereby just 8 counties with 14% of world's population seek to control the entire global economy through high consumerism and state control.
