The Climate Camp becomes a festival - everybody welcome

Jaquie | 03.07.2008 11:20 | Climate Camp 2008 | Free Spaces | World

Over the last few weeks it seems as though bookings for the climate camp have been very low and a few of us got together to see if we could understand why and to try and change things - well we have.

CLIMATE CAMP 2008 IS GOING TO BE THE FESTIVAL TO END ALL FESTIVALS !!!!!!!

Get the word out, contact bands, tell friends, invite strangers. Let them know that boring climate camp is now the exciting climate camp festival. Fantastic live bands, open mikes and more.

The middle class committee that decided they were in charge of climate camp tried to stop us (they still are ?) but we say that climate camp belongs to us and we are going to party !!!!!

Climate change wont be fixed by sitting around and telling each other how bad things are, it will be fixed by motivated, happy people getting the message out to others all over the planet and what better way to do that than the biggest festival that the UK has ever seen.... ALL FREE !!!!!!

Spread the word tell everybody, it's going to be fantastic !

WTF?

Once more in case you haven't been paying attention: The programme for the Camp for Climate Action has been decided on a consensus basis during numerous open meetings all across the country. There is no party pooping cabal behind the decision to not have ANOTHER festival. Why would you want to change a gathering that has some potential to inspire and effect change into a piss up with a fucking open mic?

As has been said before there are 611 festivals going on in Britain this summer, how much would the Climate Camp gain from being number 612?
