government going to speed up heathrow airport

It looks like Heathrow airport will be expanded even sooner if the government get this latest bill through parliament . A bill has been just passed through the house of commons. The aim apparently is to "streamline" bills will mean that Decisions on major things will be made by a committee with other parts of the planning process removed. Either way to sum up its a way of getting heathrow airport through quicker. It must be noted that nothing of this was made in the press or on indymedia. It is understandable in the press but it should have at least been mentioned here.

Fortunately it won't work like that - yet.

I think John McDonnell told the Campaign against Climate Change Forum just over a week ago that there had been some government attempt to build in retroactivity of the Planning Bill to the Third Runway decision but this got short shrift. I presume it would still make that easier if they were forced to start it again from scratch.
