UK ups regime change campaign

THE United Kingdom and its Western allies have launched a vicious campaign to create civil strife in Zimbabwe and make the country ungovernable in their desperate bid to bring down the Government of President Mugabe, it emerged this week.

Britain this week announced new measures aimed at further sabotaging the country's economy, so as to bring down the Zanu-PF Government, through chaos.
The measures coincided with a very sharp rise in prices of basic goods and services. The Zimbabwean dollar also took a serious knock, as a direct result of the latest manoeuvres by Britain and her allies to further bring the economy to its knees and thereby turn the people against the ruling party days before crucial Presidential elections set for next Friday.
Denouncing the British machinations this week, Cde Charles Pemhanayi, the ruling party's provincial information sub-committee spokesman, warned Zimbabweans to be careful about the British machinations, as they were calculated at creating mayhem in a peaceful country.
Cde Pemhenayi cautioned Zimbabweans to be wary of "evil intentions" of the Western powers, saying they did not care "a hoot" about black Africans.
"All they care about is exploiting resources for the development of their countries," he said.
The British government has drawn up plans to be adopted, if their protégé, Morgan Tsvangirai, does not win the June 27 run-off election.
The actions are aimed at bringing down the economy further and incite citizens to revolt against the Government.
Part of the evil machinations include lobbying SADC nations to consider sanctions against Zimbabwe and arm-twisting its neighbours to create an economic blockade, so that vital imports do not come through Mozambique and South Africa.
The British and its allies also want to put pressure on China to cut relations with Zimbabwe, because they see Beijing as a mitigating force to their evil plans of starving Zimbabweans.
Australia joined in, saying it would also impose further sanctions and hurt the economy, if President Mugabe wins.
Australian Foreign Minister, Stephen Smith, speaking on public television late Tuesday, said: "I think it is true to say that the international community has been somewhat disappointed by the lack of robustness on the part of the president and the South African government."
The imperialist forces hope that by doing this, Zimbabwe will become ungovernable and President Mugabe will be forced to step down in favour of Tsvangirai, who has promised to give them back the land and reverse the black empowerment programmes, that have seen Zimbabweans enjoy the status of being first class citizens.
The economy is already reeling from illegal sanctions by Britain, the United States, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand.
Cde Pemhenayi said Zimbabweans should be careful as this was meant to create chaos and incite brothers and sisters to turn against each other, as happened in other African countries such as Somalia and Rwanda.
"We have seen fellow African countries, where these evil Western powers successfully incited people to turn against each other. The results were disastrous," Cde Pemhenayi said.
"In Rwanda they incited Hutus and Tutsi's to kill each other, and this led to the death of about a million Africans in that country," he added.
Cde Pemhenayi said while the Rwandans were butchering each other, the Western powers evacuated all whites including peacekeepers from European countries.
"Only a contingent of brave Ghanaian soldiers remained behind trying to help solve the situation and help fellow Africans," he added.
The tough-talking MP-elect for Mutare North, said to show that whites did not care about Africans, the Western powers withdrew peacekeepers from Rwanda in the midst of the genocide and instead, deployed them in a European country, Kosovo, where the situation was less tragic.
"Even the people that worked for embassies of these Western powers and their domestic workers were left behind to be killed while they created a safe passage for their citizens only," Cde Pemhenhayi said.
He said the same whites caused the downfall of a functioning government in Somalia in 1990 with the hope of replacing it with their protégé, but today the country was now a failed state and a haven for lawless warlords.
"Today, Somalia is completely ungovernable and is now a failed state because of these same people who want to effect an illegal regime change through destroying our economy," Cde Pemhenayi said, adding: "It must be noted that the Americans withdrew from Somalia when the going got tough and left Africans fighting each other. Until now they are still on each other's throats."
Britain, the United States of America and their allies sponsored an armed rebellion, which toppled the government of Mohammed Siad Bare in Somalia in a bid to install a puppet administration.
Since the toppling of Siad Bare, Somalia has remained a stateless country.
Cde Pemhenhayi said Britain, the United States and their allies were only interested in exploiting natural resources from African countries and did not care about the welfare of African people.
"It has become absolutely clear that former colonisers have a permanent agenda against the colonised. In this new world order it smacks of outright arrogance, bullish maneuvers never to be allowed again," said Cde Pemhenhayi.
"These actions can only serve to whip up emotions of the long forgotten and never forgiven slavery by the Anglo-Saxons," Cde Pemhenayi said.
"Africa will never be the same again. We stood up, fought and conquered never to be conquered again. This is not a threat to Africa alone but to the whole marginalised societies," he added.
Cde Pemhenayi said, ironically, it was not about alleged poor governance or infringements of so-called human rights but the West's appetite to control the abundant resources Africa possesses.
"Africa is independent courtesy of the former Eastern bloc led by Russia and China. Where were these masters of deception and why now?"
"It is pertinent that African leaders pass on the legacy of the African struggle lest these colonisers rise again. A united Africa can conquer and overcome the ever present white hegemony."
He said calls for a united African parliament would serve Africa and her rich resources.
"Zimbabweans stand ready to defend their heritage, independence and the vast resources at its disposal," Cde Pemhenayi said.
