Issues with a London Animal Rights "Activist" and a dead dog.

Mandy in Camden | 13.06.2008 22:02 | Animal Liberation | London | World

Some of us know about this....a so-called AR activists homed a Cairn Terrier who had been rescued. This pisshead was unable to cope with the rescued dog's behaviour or looking after him and instead of ringing another activist to rehome him or rehoming him sensibly herself...claimed that the dog had "growled at her" and called the POLICE!. 7 {so I'm told} coppers turned up and took the dog away. The dog was declared "dangerous" and killed. The woman is a disgrace!

This idiot should be asked to stay away from all animal rights gatherings, events and demos. Her presence should not be tolerated anywhere around any of us.
Obviously sometimes all of us in AR argue but this goes way, way beyond anything like that. I'm not quite sure why she has been allowed to attend certain gatherings....

While we are on the subject of people who should be asked to fuck off....another so-called activist was caught red handed by senior SHAC activists in what can only be termed as a "compromising situation" with police...several people know who this is....he "got locked out of his car" at AR UK 2006 and called the police. This was at a gathering full of people able to get in and out of animal labs that are like Fort Knox and at least two activists there had previously escaped from prison....are you telling me that at least one of them couldn't have helped him get into his poxy car? He was caught out down a lane when some activists decided to go and play football down the lane and we found this cunt with the cops yakking away.....he was called a grass there and then to his face and told to fuck off.

From now on for this reason everyone should know who this is!

Not all of us in AR like each other and while simple personality clashes should never, ever be a reason to ask people to fuck off {I admire and respect people I don't get on with...} - behaviour that results in an animal's death or getting caught doing stupid things like the "car down the lane man" are ssurely reasons to do so?
This guy was caught by SHAC like I said and they can be believed by anyone rather than just taking my word for it...

Car man…

13.06.2008 22:31

Did he say anything that made him a grass? It is perfectly possible to talk to cops and not say ‘stuff’ to them.

Grass

Blimey!

14.06.2008 07:06

ok - about the dog woman - what a horrible thing to do. Can't cope with something yourself, so decide it doesn't deserve to live, that's just horrible.
But the car bloke! I get what you're saying about security and he made a big mistake, but the car is unrelated to his beliefs on animal rights and welfare. We are only human and mess up sometimes. Perhaps (i don't know) this man has devoted his life to protecting animals, being in dangerous situations, helping others out? To be suddenly excluded from his like-minded friends with a 'fuck off' is a tiny bit like the woman 'dealing' with her dog with cruelty. Our beliefs are who we are, aren't they?
As for the cops, he used them like the tools they are. Like people still shop, though they hate commerce and corporations. How about a bit of compassion for a faulty human, as we'd show towards a growly dog.

glowy

thats a bit nasty!!

I think you are being a nasty gossip quite frankly! about the person and the car! grow up and be adult of course you can have polite small talk the police and ask for their help!

VEGAN ARA.

Mandy
Given the amount of fear, paranoia and misinformation that you peddle have you considered working for NETCU?
It is possible that you work for them already but just don't know it. Who is feeding you?

amazed

Fear makes people act without thought

14.06.2008 17:23

Fear makes people act thoughtlessly with cruel results

There are many people who support and/or work for animal rights who do not adopt dogs
or cats
for a variety of reasons. Imho, it's good to accommodate the entire spectrum of animal
rights from those who are just sticking their toes in the water to the most committed.

Mandy has deep issues

16.06.2008 16:59

People like Mandy are in my opinion in activism mosty just to vent there anger at something. I've been around various political movements for the last 10 years and the animal rights movement more than others does seem to attract a fare few nut cases. I have met some of the best people in my life in animal rights. Most I would say are great people but the idiots who have a go at a guy who calls the police when he's locked outside of his car (if that is the truth) are exactly the people who made me leave the scene.

"This was at a gathering full of people able to get in and out of animal labs that are like Fort Knox and at least two activists there had previously escaped from prison....are you telling me that at least one of them couldn't have helped him get into his poxy car?" This is classic! Mandy, animal labs in the 80s are hardly comparable to fort knox.

If you are an activist, does that mean you are never allowed to talk to the police? If anyone should be told to 'fuck off'' it divisive, bitchy, hate filled, angry nutters like you Mandy. Sorry, but vent your energy at the abusers not activists.

The animal rights movement contains too many nutters for its own good

"the idiots" and "nasty gossip"....

17.06.2008 16:07

"The idiots" as you put it who caught this person were SHAC and they are no idiots. They know who this guy is. I don't see how phoning the police to help you get into your car at an AR gathering is acceptable.

"Fear, paranoia and misinformation" that I "spread" and "you work for NETCU"...who wrote this then NETCU yourselves? Fear- no. Paranoia definately, always. Misinformation - you'll have to work that one out.

As for me being a nutter. Absolutely.

And as for "have a go at animal abusers instead of activists" - actions that result in a dog being killed, {especially a dog that didn't bite anyone} isn't activism. It's animal abuse and cruelty.

If I had a car (!) and got locked out of it Mandy, you don't strike me as the warmest, most approachable person to help me out! I'm also willing to bet you're someone who would make me feel terrible for wearing my old boots from a charity shop cos they're leather (tho I never buy new leather!). And for once eating a burger when I was six. And in a moment of fear, accidentally killing a wasp. Apart from those lapses, I'm as commited a vegan animal activist as I can be, as I guess the car guy is?

"Animal labs in the 80's are hardly comparable to fort Knox"....

Recently in Madrid AR activists rescued 28 dogs in under 4 minutes from a high security lab. My answer to that is "Wow". Those people are amazing - no-one knows who they are and those people are brilliant.

This amazing rescue is highlighted on SHAC t-shirts which you can buy from the SHAC shop - www.shac.net

And no, I'm not particularly "warm or approachable" all of the time which is why in some AR circles I'm known as The Rottweiler...{thanks to who thought that one up}. Although there are those times, just sometimes, when I can be warm and approachable - aawww. Oh go on then maybe more than just sometimes.
I even forgive occasionally.

Like I've said it's nothing personal....there are some amazing people in AR who I admire and respect regardless of whether or not I like them.

Animal rights isn't a club. It's not a social event. It doesn't matter whether or not people like each other or not, it's about stopping the absurdity, cruelty and corruption of vivisection.

There are people who might have a fight one day but will stand side by side on a demo the next day supporting each other because we all believe in the same thing - stopping animal testing. Stopping animal testing because it's morally wrong, it doesn't work or save lives and is corrupt throughout. That's what we are all there for.

Oh and P.S. To the person that crept about outside my home and hid in the shed...not so long ago. Next time I throw a bucket of water out there at you I won't miss and next time I'll pee into it!

To the "animal rights has too many nutters for it's own good" .

Who wrote this? Simon Festering?

Glad you left the scene boyo!

NOT the nutter

"the animal rights movement has too many nutters for it's own good"

17.06.2008 22:18

"Bitchy, divisive " ooh that's a bit personal....sure it wasn't you who went off and formed SHACWATCH?

{SHACWATCH is a website that specialises in personal comments such as hairy, fat, ginger, small etc to insult activists rather than using intelligent argument.}

Yeah Mandy can be a bitch but she's a nice bitch and a fucking gorgeous bitch at that. Especially when she's angry. Nice tats. ; )

PS - I think Mandy's got a point about the dog woman and the car guy. Why on Earth did he call the police?
Like Mandy said the gathering was full of capable people who he could have asked instead. And like Mandy said it was people from SHAC who caught him and passed the news on. I like Mandy.

I did not actually write any of this.

27.11.2008 19:35

Some postings have appeared from "me" on Indymedia...possibly by someone who thinks they are helping. I have asked associates of mine not to do this in future and apologies go out to anyone affected by this from me and "on behalf" of the person who did write it.

My actual opinions on the subject matter are private and will remain so.

"amazed" ...you are a prat and I SUPPORT Mandy completely

29.11.2008 00:27

As for the person calling Mandy a "gossip"...the dog story is true and the Animal Rights is no place for a dog killer, Mandy is right about this.

As for the other guy...while SHAC are of course a legal campaign they did ask this guy what he was up to when he behaved oddly.

As for "working for NETCU" ....Ha! Ha! Ha! ...Mandy made a decision to go off on her own ages ago to campaign peacefully as part of a RESIDENTS campaign against the proposed Camden animal testing lab. Anyone working for NETCU would be still be going to SHAC / SPEAK meetings and demos, the gatherings etc which Mandy decided not to do any more becuase she had had enough.

Whoever wrote these nasty comments about Mandy are the ones who are more than likely the ones working for NETCU. How can Mandy "work for NETCU"? What, by spying on herself? The prat who wrote this shit is the one who needs to grow up.

Also, literally anyone can write anything on these boards with anyone's name on. Postings have been put on here by "PC Bacon" {a real cop}, by "Mel Broughton" when he was in prison etc etc.....so to the person who sent Mandy a "strongly worded email" about postings "from Mandy" should leave Mandy alone and give the woman a break, for the simple reason that she is a nice person. Also ...Mandy has worn herself out trying to get the message out to people about the proposed Camden animal testing lab....it's about time other people started helping with this {other than the Camden residents who are also doing their best}.

The lab will soon be applying for planning permission.....time to make some NOISE about this lab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mandy has nothing to apologise for. The MRC are branding campaigners as nutters

29.11.2008 17:22

Firstly, Mandy has NOTHING to apologise for.
Secondly, what the fuck is a dog killer doing at an AR meeting?

Thirdly.....the MRC are running a SMEAR campaign to brand the mostly female campaigners against the lab as "nutters", "fantasists", "liars" and "panicking".
This has been done against both Mandy Ford and Candy Udwin.....the rest of you who have attacked both of these women should be downright fucking ashamed of yourselves!!

Both Mandy and Candy have been branded as "nutters" on Indymedia, probably by the MRC or the Police. Mandy has had her home and computer broken into by a dangerous and frightening individual who supports the MRC and whose antics were noted by several people before that shit stopped.

Mandy and the rest of L.A.C.D.L. have tirelessly contacted Camden Council, MPs, MEPs, Rail providers {the lab will be put next to St Pancras International if built..}, local and national newspapers, all the big animal rights campaigns such as Viva!, PETA, Animal Aid, Uncaged..etc, leafeltted Camden businesses...etc etc

Candy Udwin has tirelessly campaigned locally, leafletteing schools and putting in deputaions to Camden Council, arranging meetings anmd demos etc etc

It's time the rest of you gave these ladies some support and back up instead of having a go at people over Indymedia postings that could be written by literally anyone....Personally I think you should all know better.

Nuff Respect to Mandy and Candy

....yeah, I think whoever wrote this crap against Mandy is "Shacwatch"....

29.11.2008 17:28

Yeah....I think that whoever wrote this crap against Mandy...probably is Shacwatch.
Unfortunately we are still living in a world where men feel threatened by strong, outspoken women....as for a certain person who has very nastily had a go at her...is it because she's taller than you? ; )

London Against Camden Danger Lab is now being run as an Arts Project and all protest artists, poets and performers are welcome....

Also....Mandy didn't write the "apology" either. Please don't write anything else with her name on.
