URGENT: SARC Portsmouth Hunt Animal Abuser

SARC | 13.06.2008 19:25 | Animal Liberation | Health | South Coast

Whilst travelling through the Portchester area on the outskirts of Portsmouth today (near Fareham) SARC volunteers saw something which shocked them beyond belief. A dog was walking along, tethered by it's owner, and apart from having a few bad cuts to the animals body, the volunteers were shocked to see someone had quite clearly cut the word 'dog' into the flesh around the animals back leg.

That is not only illegal, but highly cruel.

Unsure what to do, the activists returned to their car in total shock.

SARC are DESPERATLY trying to track down the animal for it's own safety and to seek an answer and if necessary a prosecution of the owner. Of course, it is possible that the animal may be rescued and that this had been a wound the animal sustained previously, but to be safe we are treating this as an urgent matter. If you see anyone around Portsmouth, Fareham or Portchester with a white dog, please check the animals back legs for scratches.

The dog was tethered with a leather collar and a metal chain link dog lead and the owner was around 6ft tall and had a beard and a large sports bag, so it is possible that they will not be in the area too long. They were last seen walking from Fareham past Cams School and heading left at the Perol Station and pub roundabout towards Ports Down Hill.

If you do see the animal, PLEASE contact SARC as a matter of urgency! You can get to us any time of the day at the following number and email addresses:
