Smash EDO would like to thank everyone who came to the Carnival Against the Arms Trade last week. We know that many people came from all over England, Scotland and Wales to join the protest and we wanted to tell people how significant this was. If we can keep up this momentum then our movement will grow much stronger.

The protest on the 4th was a resounding success, surpassing our expectations.

The turnout was very low

The turn out was very low though only about 300 people and it failed to shut down the EDO arms factory. Given that Brighton and Hove have a population of over 200,000 hardly anyone from there attended the demo. If just 10 per cent of the population of that area had attended then there would have been 20,000 people there.
